This may have been suggested already but how about a turret that sucks in an enemy and then shoots said enemy like a bullet.

This is a modification to a heat seeking missile, but would be really cool. There are two turrets (or one that just switches between functions). One shoots a gravity well at an enemy or patch of ground and the other shoots bullets that are attracted to the well. Or all bullets on the screen are attracted.

"Thorn Turret":
Sends thorns at the enemies, very cheap, very weak and a decent fire and reload speed.
"360 Turret":
Spins around sending small spikes when an enemy's detected. It would be effective with a rapid fire rate but after a round of about 10 if at a slow fire rate and about 25 at a very quick rate takes a few seconds to reload.
"Spring Turret":
Bounces while firing at a medium fire rate, good splash, damage, and rounds that never end, meaning no reloads.
"Grenade Launcher":
It's taken but you could implement a range of grenade launchers. Maybe 4 different, one with superior damage, one with good splash,range etc.
"Chicken Cannon":
A special unlockable turret with low stats except from amazing power.

ok two seperate turrets is a very bad idea. But there's a problem w/ a turret that first shoots a target well or w/e, and then sends home-seeking missiles to the target.... It's no different than a regular home-seeking missile launcher. Besides, the well part, which is plain unnessecary.
As for the second recommendation: making all the nearby bullets to be attracted to it.
Well, it's interesting, but too powerful in my opinion. If placed near an ion cannon, which has like a 5 sec reload time (the largest reload time in the game), and whose bullet's speed is like 10 (very slow).
Basically, the ion cannon is supposed to mis %75 of the time. But when it hits... it has massive damage and splash obviously.
So to turn those bullets, which are supposed to miss %75 of the time. To have them hit %95 of the time (bullets automatically explode when they reach the turret's range limit, hence the -5%), is just too powerful.

But I like your way of thinking, sir. You are crazy, but not too crazy.

machine gun you say? I prefer bullets than thorns though xD

Already have a quadruple shotgun. But this isn't exactly like it, but there's no reason for me to include this turret. It's nothing special.

I thought about making a grenade launcher. But the one I had in mind isn't anything like what you describe. The one you're describing is no different than a missile launcher.
In a missile launcher, the missile explodes once it hits an enemy unit. The gernade launcher I wish to make is one that is thrown in the air (a shadow of the gernade will be visible to show this), therefore, even though it may seem like it hits other units, it will only explode once it reaches the ground. But I may implement the ideas of several gernade launchers as advancements.

"Chicken Cannon":
A special unlockable turret with low stats except from amazing power.

ion cannon? I think ion cannon sounds a lot cooler B)

What do you think of the grappling hook turret also slowing down the selected enemy's speed.
Obviously carrying a turret of that weight isn't easy ^.^ (graphic-wise, it's the largest turret yet b/c of the big tire wheels I added).

I am not sure what that means, but for the most part that is what my turrets to do ^.^
Besides the snow turret, all turrets cause some damage.

I am looking for turrets that do damage, but in some kind of unique way. Leave the high/low range-reload-damage combos behind (ex. high damage low reload, low range), and come up with something unique.

yo guys, here's a sneak peak. Some of my favorite turrets:

electricty turret (top left): the electricty is carried on to other enemies nearby.

vulcan turert (middle left): basically a cool minigun. The poles spin, along w/ the head of the gun (like a normal vulcan turret / minigun), and the light thing flickers.

guided mini-nuke missile launcher (bottom left): launches mini-nukes that follow the enemies. Cause a relatively small explosion, but a very large radius of radiation that poison the enemy (causing loss of health over-time)

liquid nitrogen gun (middle): freezes and causes a bit of damage. The freezing slows the enemy's movement speed.

prism tower(s) (right): When needed, the prism towers combine power to deal massive amounts of damage to a unit. I believe this is my favorite turret. Idea taken from RA 2.

I am almost done making all the 'original' ideas (orange in the flow-chart). I am now starting to make the advancemts (red in the flow-chart). This shouldn't take more than a couple of days, 4 at most. Then I will start working on making new enemy units, and stuff. This shouldn't take more than 2/3 days. Then the menu, and pause feature and all that junk. That should take a week. So I should be done pretty soon. No more than a month I would say.

I know 4+3+7 = 14, but I know something's gonna go wrong xD

Are your turrets going to have upgrades? Such as speed, power, distance, xp leveling system, etc.?

How are you going to organize them? I think you should make only a few available at the beginning, then as you kill more you get xp and you can spend money and get more towers.

no. There is a turret technology tree. Meaning you start w/ the most simple gun. Then you have an option of about 4 turrets. then from those turrets, about 3 more options, and so on. When the game is finished, there will be over 40 unique turrets, and around 30 upgrades. An upgrade of a sniper turret would have increased range and damage. Upgrades can be increased in range, damage, reload time, or any other factor that is unique to the turret.

There is no limitation on what turrets you can spend on which levels. You get X amount of money at the beginning, and you earn more by killing enemy units. There is no xp.

A turret with two effects:

One - (negotive effect) Makes target speed up
Two - Divides target's health by 2

Once it hits one target, it can not hit it again and automatically targets a new target.

the sniper fireball turret does that. Except for the dividing health by half part. Which is a very bad addition. WAY too powerful. I suggest looking at the development tree in the post above yours for some ideas, and to see what I have already done.

Sound Tower: pushes units backwards from their positions a bit of a distance using it's crazy ass sound beams. That might be a sweet tower if it looks right. Sorry if it's already been said.

Multiplier Tower: shoots a not-so-strong bullet, but it has a low chance of doing a lot of damage, like 1 / 100 shots does x1000, 1 / 20 does x100 and 1 / 5 does x10.

Well, it wouldn't be a sound turret, cuz I already have a sonic pulse turret.
But the idea isn't bad. But if I do make a turret that pushes back enemies, it will be the whirlwind turret. It creates a whirlwind, that whirls the enemy in a random direction, and causes moderate damage. Perhaps I might add yours. Idk, I'll consider, perhaps have it like this in the turret development tree:

sonic pulse turret -> bass wave turret (your creation) -> whirlwind turret.
The sonic pulse and whirlwind turret are connected through your creation so I guess I'll consider it.

Nah, consistency is best with turrets. I want luck to have as less of an influence as possible.

Magnetic TimeBomb Turret? (Not-so-good name) It hits an enemy then a few enemies close to it are attracted to it (like a magnet) and a few seconds after the enemy is hit with the Magnetic TimeBomb It creates a moderately big explosion doing massive damage to the enemy that was hit by it and moderate damage to all the ones attracted by the magnet. The Closer they were to the target of the TimeBomb, the more damage they receive.

ok you have something go there. It's a bit complex, but I'll see what I can do. I'll either do some minor changes on it or leave it as it is.

oh I'm not promising to make it either... It's something to consider though.

genius! And then the sperm impreginates the enemies, and that:

-makes them slower
-makes them lose health overtime
-makes them cranky, and sometimes punch nearby enemies.

Ricochet Tower: When shot, it Ricochets off all enemies in its radius.

Banana Tower: to be fun, it shoots Bananas which trap enemies for a set time- makes them fall over or something i dunno.

Slow Tower: Shoots and slows down an enemy untill it is killed or makes its way to the tower.

Crystal Tower: Shoots Crystals that are so sharp they pierce any enemy and go through to hit another.

Zombie Tower: Slow Shot; has a medium big radius, every enemy in its radius turns into a zombie, making them lose health and slow up.

Aura Tower: Different Types--- All Towers either get, Attack + Speed + radius + etc etc.

Music Tower: Shoots Musical Notes which entrance Enemies. they stop and start dancing or something, i dunno.

Mine Tower: Shoots a Mine that when a Enemy steps over they blow up. Shoots Rarely.

Random Tower: All the Towers into one; Randomly picks an Attack a Tower Has and Performs it. like the Metronome attack in pokemon.
