you mean a turret like in the game 'portal'?

I have several more turrets for you. Oh by the way, you can change my turrets however you want to make them better.

Dark matter grenade launcher:
Fires a grenade with a dark matter core. The grenade lays on the ground for a fecond or two, pulling in the enemies around it. The closer they are, the stronger the pull. It then explodes for a moderate-high amount of damage.

Jackhammer turret:
Uses a small piston powered 'battering ram' at melee-very short ranges. The impact does moderate damage and knocks the enemy back considerably.

Leech cannon:
A unique turret, the leech cannon sucks in the first enemy that comes in range. The weapon then changes based on the enemy it sucks is on, based on charachteristics and strength. For example, a low level basic enemy would create a low strength basic turret. A fast low level enemy would create a low strength machinegun turret. A medium heavily armored enemy would make a medium strength lightning gun. High level group enemys would create a high strength grenade launcher. The new weapon lasts for about a minute. After the minute is up, it undergoes a thirty second cool down and is then ready to suck in a new enemy.

Block launcher:
Artillery fires a cluster of three circular concrete blocks at medium ranges. These are highly innaccurate but do high damage if they hit. The main strength is enemies cannot pass through the blocks, which remain for several seconds after firing, then disappear.

Chaingun turret:
When it targets an enemy, it starts firing with a low firing rate and high accuracy. As it continues to fire, the rate of fire slowly increases while the accuracy decreases at the same rate. It reaches maximum firing rate (and minimum accuracy) after 15 seconds.

Nuclear Pylons:
These turrets do not actually fire, instead when an enemy cones into its small targeting area, it irradiates a sizeable circle of the ground around it. The radiation damage and area decreases over 20 seconds until there is none left. Radiation does most damage nearest to tower and very little at enges. Reload is 25 seconds from irradiation to irradiation.

k dude, I really appreciate your help, really. It's just that I have 78 turrets now, and I'm putting the limit on 80, b/c I need to get the other aspects of the game done. I already have 2 in mind, and I don't think I'm gonna change those, so I'm really sorry, I probably should have mentionted that earlier. More turrets will be considered in later releases, so idk.

thank you everybody for all your help! Very much appreciated. I would like to thank everybody who attempted at making turrets, and especially those whose ideas I actually used :D

This thread doesn't need more turrets, but I would, however, like to dicuss my enemy types, what are found in the middle of page 10. Here's a copy of that post, explaining what I am planning on using:

space marine - moderate speed, low health, low damage, low range

space rider - motorcylce type of thing - high speed, low health but higher than space marine, low damage but higher than space marine, low range but higher than space marine

mecha-walker slow movement, high health, high damage, moderate range

tank - moderate movement, high health, high damage, high range

Krogoth: Boss enemy, giant walker, high health, slow, armored to reduce damage, has multiple weapons, including:
Torso mounted Vulcan: Medium range, low damage, high ROF; twin back-mounted SSM missiles, long range, moderate damage, low ROF; two small lasers on both arms: low damage, short range, medium ROF, and finally head mounted medium laser: medium range, medium damage, medium ROF

Warp Spiders: Low damage, medium range, medium ROF laser, medium health, can teleport short distances

XV8 Crisis Battlesuit: slow, medium high health, long range, medium damage, high ROF, chainguns

EMP tank: slow, armored to reduce damage, medium health, low range, low damage, low ROF emp gun which can disable turrets from firing for a few seconds.

Drone carrier: slow, low health, low damage, short ranged, medium ROF small laser, can deploy 2 drone fighters every 20 seconds

Drone fighter: fast, low health, short range, medium ROF, medium damage shotgun, are destoyed when parent drone carrier is destroyed,

I'm not having complex enemy types like my turrets. You are describing two different ranges. The enemies can only have one range. But it's cool. Like a boss mecha-walker. that's cool.

I was thinking of having it something like this (in terms of its physical appearance)

what is it exactly? wht's a battlesuit (marine, vehicle, etc.). or how does it look or something

well, sounds like a bad version of my tank. I don't see what the EMP part does.

One that clones itself if not killed quick enough? (or splits into 3 smaller ones if attacked)

One that deals more damage depending on how many other units there are in it's radius?

A really strong unit that has medium/high speed, large range but explodes once destroyed?

A "barrier" tank that protects units close to it until it's "barrier" is destroyed? (running out of ideas...)

A unit with high health that gets stronger when it loses health?

A slow, strong unit that reduces the life of another unit/surrounding units/itself when firing?

Well you could think of a hundred different turrets but you can't do much with enemy units that probably die after a few hits.
