Oh goodie, a new member but I dunno if this Chess Club is already dead (due to inactivity) or not. Also, you sign-up on my 16th birthday (10/28/08).

I've started playing on www.chess.com because they have a bunch of stuff for everyone here to get better at. Mentor, tactics trainer, stat performance, saved games. I'm at the hospital right now so I can't go on pogo or yahoo because of their firewall.

The problem that is faced with this crew is setting up tournaments. There are all ways a ton of problems with playing or contacting your opponent, keeping score, or doing it all in a decent time frame. Maybe if we can work out how to make the process smoother we have a chance of saving this crew.

Also, the games in the tournaments have problems as well, including TIME ZONES.

So it is agreed that there are many problems when trying to run this crew. We could use it as a way to meet players and discuss chess. then set up games on our own time. If people started doing that this crew would live. Though I think for the most part this thread is dead and unless some one finds a way to fix all of the problems it is going to stay that way.

It had a good little run at the start. (Still waiting for the first tourney to end though).

Problem was, no one really wanted to commit. It was, after all, an internet chess club. ^_^

I doubt I'll be able to stir up a body of interested geeks that was more enthusiastic than the crowd who helped get this one rolling... I guess NG just isn't the right platform. I'm on RHP at least once a day though, so if you want a passive correspondence game just message me on that site. it also has a blitz minisite, but you'd have to catch me online.

That's why I was an advocate of RHP (or any other e-correspondence site). But those games can last months if you let them.

We should get the staff to embed a chess program into NG. Yeah, that'd be perfect. =P

You can face your opponent any time in RHP. I dunno but other members/participants prefer a time for their match to get the results fast or to play anytime, either you forget it or not. Still depends. It's pretty unanimous.

Another nice game, AniMetal but really you improved a lot. You setup me some moves that I never see. I was getting beat up on the early parts but I saw an opening that change the turning point of the game. I'll be back though to face you. AGAIN.
