If you ever become a director some day then you need to hook me up with an acting job. I'm actually a better actor then you think I am. Remember that the movie you saw me act in was suppose to consist of bad acting and I acted bad acting out pretty well didn't I?

Recently I have been making commercials for contests. I've also got a documentary about petty theft in the works. What I really need is some good technical training though. I don't know much about formats and it drives my post guy insane. He's always "YO!, Why the fuck did you do that!?" And then I say "I DUNNO?! Can't you fix it in post?!" And then he goes "YES!" and then he complains about how hard it is to color correct and how it's all my fault for not fixing the white balance. Then when he's done with that he finds out I shot on two different cameras using two different formats. Then he kicks me out.

I loved when I found out about using more then one camera at a time. A friend and I really made a good video one time with three different angles and editing them all in to make a really smooth movie that seemed to be action packed. Again, these videos are stuff that I could put up on youtube some time, but I would have to get access to them, which is something I don't have. I made them in high school and they are still there. They don't let people inside our high school without an appointment so I really don't know any way of getting them except asking someone that is now in the video technology class to get them for me.

Anyway that's where I am now as far as filmmaking goes, can I join?

I'm sure you can join. You sure you have the time for it though? That may be keeping track of too many threads for you.

On another note maybe you guys can help me out with a problem. I have a couple of movies that I want to put up on youtube, but they competitions that they were in required 30 seconds of black screen before and after to put on so when they played them on live on tv that they could have comments in between and everything. Well I thought to myself that I don't want that black screen on it when I put it on youtube so I would just put it on windows movie maker and edit it out. When I try it says it's a audio file and I can only hear it, but I can play it outside of windows movie maker just fine as a movie. Any help? I think the file type is MPG or something like that and I can't find any place to edit it any if that's the wrong file type.

I would love to join this fine 2 page establishment.
I was about 7 years old when my cousins forced me to be in their "movie" cleverly titled "Blood Bath." Yeah. Since then I've written a whole bunch of crap some of which has ended up in a literary magazine. From there I drew up aa few storyboards but never got to auctually filming it due to lack of intrest. Not mine, but other people. No people equal no movie. So I decided one summer to do stop motion inspired from my love of King Kong. (Both the original and the Peter Jackson one) That didn't turn out to well. That's when I was introduced into flash.

Du du duhhhhh

Armed with only a mouse, a keyboard, spritesheets, and all of the summer, I made my first flash. Sure it lacked any sound at all and it was never submitted. Because it sucked. But it was a learning expirence and now with a Wacom, I'm almost done with my first "film." And...That's about it. Oh, and throw in some roles in a few plays in one of the oldest play houses in America and that's my story.

TEH END.

America. Ghettos. Walmart. NFL. Internet. Slavery. Starbucks. Disney World. Porno. Fake tits. Sushi. Taco Bell. Rodeo. Christmas. Pop-Eye. Books. Sportsmanship. Fuck yeah.

Well... you tell me a brief idea... I turn it into a screenplay (for free)... you give me a credit on the film.

I dunno, it wasn't obscenely bad, just regular bad. When I want bad acting, I want, like, soap opera bad.

You could always break into the school like you planned in TZSC.

Believe it or not, I have done more difficult things. O.O It helps that the other thread is slow right now, though.

If this problem isn't solved by the next time I check back, I'll ask my tech. You could try to capture off of quicktime though, if you even have capture settings with Moviemaker.

Sorry its taking so long to get back to you. Im having trouble with my computer an openoffice just fails to work now (i have everything saved on that). I showed the script to my friend who works in film (commercials and such) but hes really into indie films and hes a movie critic. Hes going to read it and he'll tell you what he thinks (He has a lot more experience than me).

Also on another note. Has anyone been to any film festivals or such recently? I went to tribeca a couple months ago in New York with my friend I spoke of before. It was the first film festival I've been to and it was really a great experience. I saw some great films and documentarys but i have to say the highlight for me was meeting John Landis. I got to talk to him and ask questions. It was the guy who made animal house!!!
Anyone else been to or planning to go to any film festivals?

Be patient. Give me about a week and I will have another movie that I acted in to show you guys. Then you can comment on it and everything. I can only act so fast.

Dude... you act... I am casting for WOMI... do you have a resume, headshots, and or a demo reel?

Yeah, a little.

For what exactly?

do you have a resume

Nope, but I have been in a couple of movies that have won best acting and best comedy in competitions.

headshots

In my profile.

and or a demo reel?

Yeah, just not on the internet.

More or less, give us something to talk about!

When my submission for the Klondike Bar contest is done I'll be here begging you fine people to vote it up and vote others down.

On the note about Film Festivals, I'm a spoiled NYer who doesn't take full advantage of the fact that Tribecca is right there. I've checked it out, but was only semi-impressed. The biggest deals in the industry here right now are 1) commercials, 2) documentaries, and 3) reality. No one anywhere around here is working on features. 'Tis sad.

yes.

WOMI stands for weapons of mass infection... it is an independent feature length film project that I am putting together.

If I may, what's the current budget, and how far into preproduction are you? Furthermore, can we have a synopsis, or can you only PM it?

If you need a DP, cameraman, grip, or stuntman/actor, and can pay expenses, don't hesitate to contact me.

yes.

Yeah, we aren't going to post if we don't find something interesting. The reason I haven't been posting in the zombie club.

Hmm, well you see I would, but I rather not give some one special treatment. ;)

Oh, and my strong point in film making would be the editing, script writing, camera man, and acting probably in that order.

Ive really been interested in film and a one of my friends and I are talking about making short internet movies. We havent done anything as of yet, but i have writtin 30+ ideas for movies that i think people would like.

I have also got an idea for a book that i would love to make into a movie one day. not a short movie and book, but an actual one. It is something different than what is going through theatres today which only seems to be remakes of old shows, stoner comedies, romantic comedies, and comic book movies. I only think i need the training to make a great director because i know I can provide an excellent vision towards the making of a movie.

And how much do you know about the industry? :)

Remember that movie I told you guys that I was going to submit pretty soon. Well I have it all ready and everything, but honestly I just don't feel like submitting it since it's going to have a whole bunch of youtube comments on it. Maybe some time I will put it up on another website and link it here for you guys to check out, but for now I just don't feel like it.

As of yet i have not made anything. My friend and I are very lazy. I am more of an up and coming director so i am still very fresh to the industry and wouldnt tell you anything you couldnt of thought up yourself. Im kinda a sad excuse for a filmmaker, but im still trying. Just trying right now to get started and get my name out there.

You can disable the comments on youtube. That would be great if you would put it up.

Well here is one that I decided to submit to newgrounds. This isn't the award winning one and it is very far from it, but here it is anyway. I think my friend, the investigator, did a really good job of acting in this movie. I really didn't have a major role so you don't get to see my acting skills in this specific movie.
