Well, I didn't use piano in my submission either.
I didn't have a submission at all, but that's a loophole that works for me.
I was actually working on a classical piece that didn't have a piano, just strings and percussion. I had planned to add a little brass and woodwind, but alas, it was not meant to be for this competition...

The thing is, when people hear the word sad music, most of them think piano. This may be a bad thing for it is quite cliche. However, the piano is an instrument that has the ability to communicate more gentle emotions easily. That's why many of the submissions are piano solos. Good ones, might I add. Personally, with one of my submissions, I tried to break the norm with percussion working in coalition to bring out a tainted emotion, which is sadness. The hardness of the percussion brings out the passion of the piano to drive forward the vulnerability of sadness into a solid emotion.

Just one question, How do we know if our submission has been rejected or not if we are on the last wave of entries. We weren't NOT put on any previous list... not that i expect to be...
But is there a window to B and Moan about rejections or the late entries?

Now considering that the final list isn't even up yet, and we've been given good forewarning from Darkside, I would expect the results in around a few days to a week after the list is posted.
Be patient. Don't go killing yourselves waiting on them results only to find you've won and you're not alive to know it.
