OMG ITS TEH PRECISION.

First, the Wii needs some decent 3rd party games.

So where's the nunchuk?

I'm guessing there's alittle hole we can connect it.

It says that they'll talk a lot more about it at E3, I guess this is one of their suprises.

A proper first person, online sword fighting game is what I've been waiting for on the Wii and hopefully this will help it along.

A Wii version of Bushido Blade would make me quite the happy camper.

I don't get it. Isn't the Wiimote already supposed to emulate 1:1 movement? Is Nintendo going to charge people for an attachment that makes the Wiimote perform the way they promised it would when it was originally unveiled?

Hopefully the controls will make true sword fighting possible, rather than the lame sword fighting controls that were in Red Steel.

This peripheral will either make the Wii truely revolutionary, or it will be a pointless flop. I'm hoping for this to make our games that much better!

I don't think they ever promised that the controller would work quite like that, everyone just assumed it would work that way based off gameplay footage.

As for the whole price thing, it's only going to be a big deal if they choose to put a high price on it. Seeing how Nintendo has done things in the past, I wouldn't be suprised if they included a game with the new peripheral.

I swear if another peripheral for the Wii comes out I'm going to insert a Wii mote up someone's rectum.

I don't even know what this is.

Basically, Nintendo acknowledge that their motion sensing technology is shit, and that people are going to have to buy this piece of plastic tat to make it all better.

I don't really play games that solely utilise the Wii remote, anyway. But damn, these guys are squeezing every penny.

I know. They should put to use the so-called "Nintendo Seal of Quality".....
But yeah, more precision is good. Now they'll be able to make that coveted light-saber thingy we've all been waiting for...

Well I won't need it the Wii remote is already good enough.

Because it works just fine without anything more, this just looks like a profit stunt make people think its needed when its not.

Yeah this is kind of a strange move. It will end up being a good move for Nintendo because Nintendo add-ons always do well but this is kind of them admitting that the control does not work too well.

What's so amazing about a little block that's attached to the Wiimote? I may be supid, but I just don't see the point paying for that.

Here's the thing...Nintendo is totally separating their market with this add-on. There are certain things that you can do with the MotionPlus but cannot do without it. An early example is the drums in Wii music. I forget exactly what, but there was a certain move that the guy did that is not possible with a regular Wii remote (I read it in some preview of Motion Plus on either 1up or IGN).

I'm sure a bunch of people will have one, since it's being packaged with Wii Sports 2, but it shows a lot of arrogance on Nintendo's side. They just kind of assume that everyone is going to buy it. It's an even bigger pain in the ass for third parties. If they want to use a mechanic that's only available with motion plus, they're going to have to figure out how to get around it for people that don't want to buy one. It's worse than the 64 RAM upgrade, since this is actually limiting the controller and the gameplay, as opposed to the graphics. I'm really just kind of fed up with everything Nintendo. I said the same thing around this time about the Gamecube and vowed to steer clear of Nintendo this generation. I got caught up in the hype during E3 2006 though and bought a Wii at launch. They're going to have some serious explaining to do for me to support them next generation.

If we're lucky this means less waggle. And you'll actually have to swing a bat like a bat instead of just flicking your wrist. Hopefully this is something worth while and we'll get stuff like we imagined in 2006.
