Automatic Quality Setting??...

So we have this new movie coming up to the Portal soon and it looks really good. Some of the sences in it though look quite intence and when i look at the movie on my laptop, It lags at these scenes... Insted of having a "quality changing button" in the movie, i wondering if theres a way of having the quality preset when the movie starts to low or medium, im pretty sure you have to do this with AS so does anyone know the code?? There is an auto quality function in flash, but I'd just put _root._quality = "LOW" or whatever on the frame.

The built in "Auto" setting isn't that reliable. It'd be better if you made it yourself. Base the quality on the FPS rate by making an FPS counter.

Ok, but how do i make an FPS counter (Code anyone??) and also, would certain type of script make the quailty lower automaticly when the FPS is low??

also, if i do use the auto one, do i have to put it in each fame i want lowered?? Cause that will be a problem since i have to lower the quality of the whole movie....
