there have been so many topics of plans to improve the portal.

there have been so many ideas to improve the portal.

ffs, theres even threads by the mods, for the mods, endorsed by the mods, and linked by the mods specifically to contact the mods on how to better the portal.

but WTF. why does nothing ever change with this deluge of complaints and potential, often well thought out solutions? what's the obstacle to change and improvement? because im lost, having been around here for a long time.

im not going to post this in the "improve AP" thread, since itll get 1) lost in posts, and 2) probably ignored by the mods. this is jst an honest question [especially since lots of good artists are leaving the portal now...]

Because the mods can't affect any of the changes that people are asking for. Only the admins can make those decisions and they have their own agendas and timelines.

Please see the above... The mods can't do anything about any of the above.

The AP improvement topic is checked up on and read by the admins from time to time but keep in mind that your suggestions are only that... I'm sure that the admins take into account for what people would like to see and they try to implement features that people want but they are in no way obligated to spend their time and money on every user suggestion that hits the forum.

I think people are undermining how hard it might of been for the Admins to do the MASSIVE update from the older format, to the new one. I mean, we're right around the 1 year anniversary of the change and people are already growing old and bickering of new complaints. Everyone focuses on the negative and doesn't see the positive; a good community, fan support, the joy of just making music, the Top 4 at the NG Homepage, the new layout, (and the best yet) the 8 MB file size limit.

I'd love to see a thread that was actually positive for once =)

And we shouldn't forget that now listening to a song takes seconds...not minutes as was before!
That improved so much the AP, in my opinion.

Other than this, we everybody know that the votation system has some problems..! :)

Check out my latest audio (genre: jazz/fusion, length 2:48)

I still think that all the downloads stats and listen stats should be reset yearly, so that everyone has a chance, and noone has an advantage.

I'm such an audio FAG! Actually, I'm THE audio fag!
ALSO! come support us at the newgrounds irc chat rooms! - just type newgrounds_audio or vg_newgrounds for chatroom!

Without a doubt - the AP is a better place now... yes, there is still room for improvement but there is also time for improvement.

It took a long time but change finally happened.

If we are patient (most likely for a very long time but still...) it will probably continue to improve over time in leaps and bounds - but not all at once.

Or maybe stuff could be organized yearly, I think that would be more fair.

To be honest (I could be wrong): The only thing I see wrong with the AP now is 0-bombers (which may never change) and the top 4 stuff etc. on front page.
