Be Still And Let Me Speak
His name is actually "Guy". He was i the entire street fighter alpha series and I never saw him in any other game besides card fighers I think.

'Guy' is originally from Final Fight, a capcom brawler.

Oh yeah that's right I heard about that on game trailers. When it was ported to super nintendo Guy wasn't in it and then they remade it with Guy back in.

Oooophh... Needs major improvement... Wouldn´t it look better hand-drawn? The arm in particular is a real mess.

Oh God.
You really need some more oldschool playing, honestly.
Well, here´s a recent sketch with a Guy on the right. He´s also one of my favs in Street Fighter Zero.

Still needs much to be desired... But, hopefully you'll have improved since then.
I've resurrected this dead-at-born thread to show you this recent unfinished drawing.
Should I fix'em a pair of legs and vector it?
Comments would be much appreciated.

Yes please :D
Sometimes I feel like I am the only Tekken guy on NG..

Your not.
King is still a bad ass machine in my books.

The chest could do with a bit of remodelling, but overall, nice work.

If you redraw the legs so they're apart (so he looks ready to fight/support his leaning forward body) then yeah, for sure.

Lei all the way.
Honestly, although I was hoping for some feedback, I wasn't really expecting people to actually reply to my post... thank you all and sorry for taking so much time in answering.

Good to see you like it! Sadly, some urgent matters have fallen on my head lately, so poor Guy will have to wait in line... Yet, meanwhile I'd like to post here some related sketches, or showing the project progressing somehow... I think it'd be nice to "share" this project somehow... Sounds nice?
At 11/24/09 10:46 AM, Lundsfryd wrote: Sometimes I feel like I am the only Tekken guy on NG..
My relationship with Tekken is a love-hate one. I'm afraid I won't be gettin' Tekken 6 anytime soon... (Well, maybe in PSP for the sake of Kazuya... But it's going to be the same as Dark Resurrection, why I should...? Aahh, we'll see...)

The idea was to draw his right leg one step ahead. A quiet stance to show off his well-ironed pants :D I've considered your idea of drawing his legs apart, but in order for it to work, it'd be better to redraw it completely... I'll try to post a fighting stance sketch to see if that's what you had in mind.
Well, yesterday CAPCOM really made me happy. Guy's coming to SSF4... And he's bringing a friend with him!
Yeah, I was one of those guys who missed his stereotypical jeans & shirt but with time, I've admitted the character is much more distinctive this way and, hey...
... He was your average hero o' the day... but now he's a man consumed by violence!
OHMYGOSH I THINK I GOT MY PANTS SQUISHY.
Well, the rest of my reasons for loving Cody will wait for another day. Here's a rough I've just made and I thought to clean it up a bit and posting it here. I'd really encourage commenting on this one.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for bumping this thread...
Last night, I tried to see if I could turn a messy sketch into a proper inked drawing.
Judge the result by yourselves...
I'm not perfect, but it's better to try and fail that not trying at all...

good ol' poison. the girl with a wiener, or whatever he/she is.
great designs joe, i didn't see this thread before.
It's EHHH. it's not great, but it's not that bad either

Coming from a renowned CAPCOM lover, that's the best compliment I could expect...
This silly goose humbly appreciates your words of support... Thank you very much, Jeff.
Speaking of "whatever he/she is"... Considering the circumstances under such genre confusion was born, I can't take anything about that subject much seriously or even less "official" (see the statements of Yoshinori Ono about the subject. Oh, Ono...). I remember the card text on SNK Vs. CAPCOM Card Fighters DS: "She's a man, baby!".
...
Anyway, what was a character that looked good, now has developed an interesting background...
So that's great for me.
... Now... I've noticed I haven't given Mike Haggar any proper rendering, so...
... We'll have to keep waiting.
HARASHO!!!

That looks great! It's pretty funny how he can stand with feet like that. Those style feet work with the female characters but not so much with the large bulky males.

Now that I'm questioning all concerning my work, I could show here some experiment concerning my tiny feet ( and its relation to my hulky males...)
But now, time to show last night's work... Here's Bred and Dug!
...
What...?! Did you expect more Poison...? Sodom, Rolento, maybe?

Ahh, the times when people used more than Mario, Sonic and, occasionally, GBA Naruto to make funny sprite movies...
Glad to see you're liking it. I hope to get some more ninja here soon...
Now, here I present you Damnd! (or Trasher in the SNES version...)
As a funny fact, I'll say that, like in the previous pic, I took my GBA microand plugged Final Fight One a bit to get him into my head and refreshing my memory before actually draw him... I also was getting really sleepy with this one and it was starting to get difficult towards the end... I have to stop drawing in the early mornings...

Yes, he was a bit of a bitch. You kick his ass for a bit, then he'd call up some generic enemies for you to fight while he took a break from fighting.

Yet still easy and satisfying to beat the crap outta him.
Continuing with the PPP (Pesky Punk Pair.): Jand Two P.
I think these could've been done better, but I'm committed to make every one of these in only one drawing session each. And rules are rules.
So, If any of them doesn't come out that nice, I'll have to deal with it and hope the next one comes out better. Still, I hope you like them anyway.
He was the first one in the noble tradition of the Level 2 Bosses. If you've played any CAPCOM brawler, you know what I'm talking about. The level two bosses made the cut to separate the noobs from the pros. You have to play quite a few games (Or insert some extra coins...) to beat those beasts. From Final Fight to Alien Vs. Predator, those names ring a foul bell in the mind of every player... Shtrom Jr., Bruford, The Butcher...
Anyway... Here's Sodom. One of my Street Fighter Zero favs, too.
I'd dare to say this is one of big-j-13 role models...

Hahahaha, maybe :P
This guy is a major pain in the ass. Even when they supply the katana for you, he still whoops your ass hard.
(Note - All my Final Fighting comes from Final Fight for SNES)
wow, this is nice:D i see you have trained alot on the anatomi, i like the musckel stile:D
Beutifull
God damn it, Joe, you're so fucking awesome.... keep it up!
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.

My strategy is to catch him, give'em some taste of my knee, and throw him over my shoulder. Then comes the tricky part. Sodom can't charge in full vertical, so you have to stand some distance right in his Y axis, and once he finishes his charge (when he catches your X axis.), move quickly to his Y axis again, as far as possible from him, but right in his vertical. Repeat until he calms down and start walking again, so you can grapple him and make all the damage you can do. Now repeat the evade part until he gets knock down. If you happen to be in a pinch, jumping kicks may help you.
The SNES version was great. It has enhanced music and the graphic retouches are swell (Codyis really thankful for his new face...) These changes apply to the GBA version, which is almost the ultimate port. (almost...)

Oh, Kraig, thank you so much for your support!
This has developed into a personal project... I'm going to keep on making these until I run out of characters or my hand breaks apart... Whatever happens first.
Now it's turn for two of the coolest members from the gang...
Here's Axl and Slash.
On a side note, Axl was drawn last night, as usual, but when I finished the sketch and started the other one, I didn't like it and I started it over again. The second time was more satisfactory, so I inked it and... I went to bed.
So Slash was entirely made this morning. Here it is, with the ink still fresh.
I hope you like them.
