We will begin with a sketch of Kurt Cobain, which I am not entirley positive looks like him, but it looks OK, I hope.......More to come if this threadis popular enough..not all of them famous people, most just random peasants....

i've never seen an actual picture of him, but i'm pretty sure his ear's not a gaping oval hole in the side of his skull.

lmao, you're right, he shouldnt have that bigger nostril, and i always was bad at ears, i never draw on my animation characters...

umm the eyes are oddly shaped and lack detail, the lips are very odd, they lack shading, the nose is also strange. also he doesnt seem to have an Adam's apple. i would practice a bit more drawing individual parts of the face from different angles before drawing portraits. that would help you understand shading a bit more and the part's shape.

ok thanks, you're right essentially....i prefer working from real life, which is the note on which I introduce my next portrait. This is just my friend whom I sketched whilst he was on the computer....It was my first proper sketch or a person, and I think it's the one I'm most proud of....
