Haven't watched it, but what I've heard, it tries too hard to be OMG DEEP AND ADULT, but succeeds only in gratuitious amount of blood and titties and omnious latin chanting.

There are better action anime, better fanservice anime, and much more deep and philosophical anime out there.

yeah i watched episodes 1 to 9 its a titty, gore fest. i even remember the pink hair little girl that was in a wheel chair who came out of this fucking giant machine with this ugly helmet on. Once she took it off she look like a angle and she was asking for her mommy, So the doctor who act like her mother came in the room to hug her. Then evil little girl made that bitch explode!

You offend me. I'm an Elfen Lied fan myself, and the show isn't just about violence and nudity. If you just wanna see that, please get the fuck out and watch some guro mangas. Elfen Lied talks about romance, psychological issues, tragedy, forgiveness, and many, many other serious subjects.

Yes, I know there are better stories, but you have to admit this is awesome. I watched the anime (which consists of 13 apisodes and one OVA, as I can remember) and the manga is nothing like it. The anime ends in chapter 30 of the manga, as if not before. For any Elfen Lied fans out there, the translated volume 12 is out now.

The story itself made me cry, making it one of my favorite works along with Ergo Proxy and other awesome animes and mangas.

Popular Western Animation relies more on humor, colorful stylized characters and pop culture references. These are the reasons for which fans enjoy them, not some 12 year that can't even spell saying how cool an anime is cause he saw some boobs and blood.
