Nuclear Apocalypse. a fun idea huh?
I read a report about strengthening boarder patrols here in Norther Minnesota.
they say "confirmed terrorist" are traveling "freely" through the Minnesota\Canada border.
(yes thats right terrorist can be WHITE too.)

they say however there are no satellite confirmation of Nuclear weapons yet.

Excuse me... YET?
Iran, North Korea, Russia, Cuba, maybe China, The USA!
WHO OF POWER DOESN'T HAVE NUKES?

So whats YOUR say?
Apperiantly in the 50's we where on the verge of Nuclear Holocaust.
Now in '07 and '08 EVEN MORE countrys have nukes and it seems like we're
a million miles away from a Nuke war.

are people smarter? is there something larger going on?
or is this the Press making Stories for Viewers?

It's called M.A.D or Mutually Assured Destruction.

That's the only reason we aren't in a nuclear war yet.

A lot of different nations having nukes is a mixed blessing. If war did break out, we'd be pretty screwed. However, the flipside is that with so many nukes floating about they act as a deterrent to nuclear war, lest the nations involved be obliterated.

What it means is that any use of Nuclear weapons is assured destruction of your country. It isn't worth using a nuke because you will be destroyed by another country. If anything nuclear weapons now serve as a deterrent to any military actions, so yes nuclear weapons for now make us safer.

Do you need a cough drop? Iran's longest range missile has only about 1200 miles range, no threat to us soil. And there is no proof Iran has nuclear weapons.

You know, President Bush said, at the end of his period he'll start a nuclear war against Iran. I know - Bush talks a lot of crap when the day's long, but... that's kind of uncomfortable news seeing that every soldier here in Germany is called in for no obvious reason whatsoever. There's something going on and I guess we won't like it much.

Also Obama promised a war against Iran to AIPAC...

Simply having more weapons doesn't mean people are more poised to use them. There was a great deal of political tension between countries with nuclear arms in the 50s. Nowadays, things are more or less cordial around the world so, of course, there's less pressure to keep your trigger finger at the ready.

in the 50s there was the whole Russia hates you thing... and Germany was in ruins and Pissed....
given 3 superpowers where in Ruins back then, still nowadays the Middle East is enraged and theres no denying that. and North Korea is controlled by a lunatic. and with the US losing power every year, it seems like there should be quite a bit of Pressure still..

I have a question that applies, Would you rather just one power in the world had thier hands on nuclear weaponry, or if most do like now?

On the one hand, there would be pretty much no threat of a Nuclear Apocalypse but the one with the Nukes would be calling all the shots, on the other, we are on the edge of a sword, but the point is, we all are so no one can get the upper hand.
