I tried searching for another thread with this answer and found nothing useful. I would most prefer a method that doesn't require the download of purchase of somekind of software, but if those are the only methods you know, please tell me anyway.

On flash, you can click File>Export Movie and then choose which file format you want, such as a video format like .avi, or whatever (i haven't got Flash open right now, so I'm trying to recall from memory, so my facts might be a bit off). This does give TERRIBLE quality though. Fading messes up, and everything is very jolty, but if you want to do that, then go ahead...
You can export videos in .avi and .mov format from flash. However, I have a feeling you're planning to steal something and put it onto YouTube.
i use a program called winAVI which basicaly converets video files into different formt video files...export the movie and use the program to convert it into wmv or so on :)

I do want to put things on youtube, but only flashes that I have made. I don't know what type of format youtube uses, so I don't know if that is the right thing for me. If it is, can you link me to the site where I can get the specific program that I need? Also, is the program free or do I need to pay for it?

Also, I forgot to mention that my version of flash (flash 8) exports to .exe, macintosh projector files, .mov, jpeg, gif, png, html, and .swf (of course).

What? That was nowhere close to the same question and didn't help at all. I am saying that I don't know two things:
1) How to convert flash files into video files that are accepted on youtube.
2) If it is softwhere I need, can you link me to where I can get it?

Ok it's not the same question ¬_¬ ... and about your problem all you need to do is export it as a avi , to do that you need to go to Export Movie > and insteed of exporting it as a swf. do it as a .avi , but that when the tween motion problem comes to ... err.. suface ( yes i know you know how to export a movie , i just explain it again cause i'm bored lol )
Oh ,, and no i don't know any other software but let me know if you find anyone
You could just go to file > export > export movie and select the .avi and BAM, you get a huge movie file. I just tested this on a short 20 second animation that I did and the playback was terrible (slide show anyone?) and the file size was 615 mb. I'm not sure why it was like this, but I've never trusted flash to export video files.
The best way, imo, is to export the flash into 2 different file types, but this only works if you have video compiling software like After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut, Quicktime Pro, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, etc.
First export the audio (file > export movie, select an audio file). When that's finished go to file > export again but this time export it as an image sequence (.png sequences are never wrong)
You can now import the image sequence into the video compiling software and line up the audio file with it and export the video from there. I'm pretty darn sure Quicktime Pro can do this all on its own:

...if you're talking about converting youtube .flvs to movie files, I have no idea how to do that (the quality is going to suck if you grab an flv off of youtube though)

Ohhh, THAT's how you get AVI! I was trying a whole different method that I don't want to get into. Are you sure youtube accepts .avi files because I am currently submitting something to youtube. The loading bar at the bottom is full now. Its been 20 minutes after being filled and I'm still at the same screen...

They do, but for future reference quicktime h.264 files are SO much smaller than .avi files
uploading to youtube takes a while (the last one I did was a 10 second pencil test and that took 5 minutes to upload) in any case, so grab a snickers, etc.
