No wonder why they call it top 5 awesome movies, because that is mostly all that ever wins. Egoraptor i can accept because there will never be a time when he never wins when he submits to newgrounds. That's something I wouldn't expect. But really, Grand theft Awesome beat best present ever and Crows episode 3. Even More Brawl Taunts made it. Now, I love Rina-Chan and Kirbopher15. I understand you (this is directed to Rina and Kirb) don't think people should be mad that you guys make parodies and people like it. I love parodies as much as anyone else, but the problem isn't the attention or popularity. Nor is it the fact whether people vote 5 or 0 depending on what characters are in the flash. The point I'm making is that have you ever looked at the monthly and said to yourself, do I over Iall these flashes deserve to win. I know you guys don't have anything to do with what the judges choose, but I just want to ask you do you ever feel like you deserve out of all the hard working flashes beneath you if you truly deserve the money. It's fine when you guys get popular. No one should care about that, but when I get to monthly and see that these hard working flash artist don't win any money. They take all that time to just get a nod and then they disappear. That isn't right at all.
I kind of wish the voting was up to the Newgrounds moderators just like it is when they pick the best of the year. And its not just More Brawl Taunts Either. I seriously doubt owls should even be in third. The animation was good, but really? Art in the playground displayed animation on a medium we rarely see which is film. If anything, Art in the playground should be somewhere up there. Just because you laugh (this is to the newgrounders) do your truly think it deserves top of the month.
I envy the games in the top of the month because they are always given to people who deserve it. Usually games are more complex because you have to actually base it on its core gamplay, controls, story and effort. People play games and pay attention to the aspect because the player is inside and actually taking the time to pick apart everything. If there is a bug, they will catch it. But in movies, no one pays as much attention. I usually only see two movies in the top that really deserve to be up there. Sometimes even one like this month.
I hate to sound like I'm tearing these people apart, but im trying to make a valid point. It aches me to see that sometimes artist don't get what they deserve. Crows episode 3 took 6 months to create. Best Present Ever took 6 months. And it's not just even time, but quality comes into mind as well. There are always so man well made flashes that get based up, it makes me wish that krinkels or someone was in the top, because usually they give there money and awards to the person that deserves it. I know nothings ever going to change, and I can accept that. But it just makes me feel like as a newgrounder, what's the point of these monthly's. I come to view the winners that are most deserving. The tank awards were great because it was obvious who deserved what and the true winners were actually rewarded. This time around, I sort of wish that the monthly's didn't exist. I would rather have no one win then the good cartoons lose.
I don't know much more I can say. I've been bottling this up for a while. I was hoping this time the monthly would be different. But it never is. Even Enemy in the Snow was a very well made cartoon that only took a week, but displayed movie like quality. Put that movie alongside More Brawl Taunts or Grand Theft Awesome. Yeah, we know who's the better
I honestly blame the front page sometimes. The quality flashes never get a chance to gain an audience who might not even seen the flashes in order to vote on them. Grand Theft Awesome was up there for like 3 weeks while the quality flashes only get 4 or 3 days to get some views. If no one gets the same amount of views, then how are they suppose to be fairly judged. You can't expect a cartoon with 30,000 views to go against a 500,000 viewed cartoon and win. Because most of the time no one gets to see Crows or Enemy in the Snow. You put them against More Brawl Taunts and you barely have a contest. I see it as the most views a cartoon has, the more likely it is to win money. Its as simple as that. I really dont see how the front page is fair these days. If you give game parodies more time than others, how do you expect people to take newgrounds seriously or even gain a different audience. Why cant you keep Awesome Gaiden up and something else thats really good up there just as long Tom or whoever runs the front page.
I hate to use up so much space, but man hopefully people actually read this and take into account that I'm not trying to diss game parodies. Im just trying to help give everyone equal opportunities.
