Well I guess I should say I want mature answers but this is the NGs so why bother. I know that many people think that being gay or bi is a choice but why would an otherwise logical indavidual make a that "choice" even when they know it will cost them thier home with thier parents, get them beat up and school, and in some places put thier lives in danger? Now I have heard people claim it to be a genetic disorder but again why would you say this? Can you find the hetarosexual gene? No but there must be a gene that makes you attracted to the same sex.........
Failure to compute.
Any how my thoughts on the matter are that every one has built in attraction "switches" that cause them to be attracted to another indavidal. I think in the case of gay or to an extent bisexual people these swiches are just the same as thier opposite gender. Then again I have to agree with the saying that everyone is just one seduction away from being bi or gay.
Now your turn for your thoughts on the topic of Bisexual or Gay indavidual or anything I have said.

Well... one person described it as a bar with Homosexuality on one end and Heterosexuality on the other and that people are shades of gray.
Others say that you can either be homosexual or heterosexual and that bisexuality is more of a "sleep with whoever" rather than a sexual preference.
Who knows?
It's one of "those" areas that I personally prefer not to dive into (no pun intended, jeez... freaks!)

Bisexuals don't care whether you are a man or woman. You see, they love evybody regarldess of sex, so they are probably the best sexuality to choose.

You don't choose your sexuality. And either way persecution of people because of their sexuality is ridiculous. Let me put it in perspective: racism. If i could choose to be black or white or asian, would that make racism okay? No. Same thing. And sexuality is not a genetic disorder, in that "disorder" implies a negative connotation. It is caused gentically however. No idea how. You're either born gay or bi or you're not. I think the main issue right now is not what the causes of one's sexuality (however interesting they might be) but rather how we intend to stamp out the idiotic bias against gays and bisexuals. Any reasonable person would admit that it sucks to be gay right now. There's a lot of people who call it a sin, and argue that it's a choice. This, in my opinion, really amounts to nothing more then religious idiots believing that gays are gross. The idea that it's a choice came as a justification of the persecution of gays, because you'd feel like a douchebag yelling at someone who didn't get to choose whether or not they do what you're yelling at them for doing.

You're attracted to who you're attracted to. I'd imagine there are very few bisexuals who'd sleep with absolutely anyone. Everyone has some kind of preference in what attracts them to a person. I guess bisexuals just happen to like certain features in both guys and girls. It doesn't really seem that strange or peculiar to me. I happen to like specific traits in girls, I can certainly understand when guys like other traits in girls. How is it much of a jump from there to people liking specific traits in both genders?

You are either gay or not. There really is no wiggle room. Bi is just for people who are half out of the closet.

There is no "bi"... if you're male and claim you're "bi", you're gay, but with one foot in the closet. If you're female and claim to be "bi" you're straight, but an attention whore.
now ask yourself how much of that is kidding.

Hmm funny because I am both physically and romanticly attracted to both men AND women. I was even married for a time. So please do explain how there is not wigge room.

I wouldn't ask for an explanation from someone who's talking out their ass. Things get messy.

No! No one can truely control being bisexual, transexual, or homosexual. It's our duty as human beings to give them the respect they deserve, which is treating them as what they are: other humans.

This isn't about religion, numb nuts.
It's about what we think of Bisexuality. Is it really a legit sexual preference? How do we describe it?
Damn, I love it when the anti-religious are the first to bring up religion.

If a girl is bi, it's hot. If a guy is bi, I don't care but I'd rather not know.

I think that most people who are gay and or bi are doing it for atention. Especialy the flamboyantly gay/bi people. The really gay/bi people are almost completely the same except for that one little thing. In witch they like either both or the same sex. Thats what I've noticed lately.

If there even is a Hell, I'm going to be glad to see you there because there are countless Christians who profess their faith yet would shit their pants and renounce their faith if someone pointed a gun to their head and asked if they were a Christian or not.
And shut up everyone who says you can't be "in-between" because I'm pretty sure that by you saying that, you're definitely not bisexual at all, when being bisexual is the only way you know what it's like to be attracted to both genders.
So the topic really shouldn't be up for discussion with people who have absolutely no clue what they're talking about at all.
I now pronouce you dumbass. What the hell did the whole christian thing come from? I'm a christian and I don't give a damn weather or not your bi. Same thing to me. It's your choice to believe or not.
And what makes you think you know what your talking about? are you a Doctor?
By the way, I think you would denouce anything with a gun to your head. So shut the hell up. I bet your a pussy too. Yeah, it happens.

If a woman has sex with another women do you believe she is considered gay as well? Because that's pretty much the truth too.

Well, no. Having sex with someone doesn't change or define ones sexuality. Being attracted to someone of that sex does.
There are many reasons to have sex with someone you aren't attracted to; money, power, and threats being common reasons.
You shouldn't believe that you have the right of free thinking, it's a threat to our democracy.

I know that, I was replying to MuffDiver's post. That question was specifically meant for him to answer; to anyone else it's pretty much rhetorical. I don't even know why I asked that question of him, I don't expect much from someone who's name is "MuffDiver" and puts YOUR GAY in bold font. He seems pretty definite on his whole view, which reeks of "I don't mind gays but if one comes near me he's dead."

People who are bisexual have a choice to be gay. People who are gay say they are born that way. What I want to know is if you're born gay then that must obviously be a disorder. So what happens when a scientist says they have cured being gay? If the gays don't want to be cured then being gay would be a choice.

This is my view on bisexuality. I think that people who claim to be bi are jsut saying they are confused and are experimenting with both to see which they ike cause every bi person I have ever met has later on decided to jsut be straight or just be gay.
Also I found this article about how they did scans on the brian and found that a homosexual's brain is shaped more like the opposite sex. http://www.newscientist.com/channel/bein g-human/brain/dn14146-gay-brains-structu red-like-those-of-the-opposite-sex.html
