Well, my Xbox is fucked.

It takes forever to open. The light sometimes stays blinking after I press the eject button, and then after waiting a while, it usually ejects or the Xbox just turns itself off. And EVEN THEN, when the disc tray closes, the Xbox still usually turns off. Then it sometimes turns off randomly while it's on.

I mean, it's really messed up. I couldn't turn off the Xbox by pressing the power button, so the only way I have been able to shut it off is by unplugging it. And now that the disc thing is totally wonking out, I've just decided to retire my Xbox, and it's now in the closet, leaving only my PS2 and Wii out.

But hey, no big loss. I was really only using my Xbox as a DVD player. I've still got the PS2 (though unfortunately, I don't have a remote with it, so it's a bit less convenient than the Xbox was). Plus my girlfriend is getting me an Xbox 360 next week, so I'm a happy camper. :)

The Xbox 360 has backward compatibility and comes usually with a media remote, (maybe a microphone), so you have not a problem at all.

My original Xbox won't open when I push the Eject Disc Tray button. I have to push it at least 90 times before it finally slides out.

Hit the top of your X-Box, right above the disk tray, slightly hard. In a pounding motion, or a slapping one. It should open. At least, mine does.

Why would you get rid of the original Xbox? I still have both my 360 and my original hooked up to my TV. Not every game is backwards compat. Plus, I have old game saves on my original.

Yay you've just reminded me that i've got mine somewhere! Its probably in better condition than my 360 seeing is my 360 takes about 6-7 goes of turning it off and on again before anything actually happens. Also when I open press the button to open the disk drive nothing happens the first time.

Oh well, it happens to all the Xbox 360s. It's the sad truth. PS3 and Wiis don't have this problem :S
