Yeah, since my brother moved out I can't really use his anymore, so I want to buy my own. My budget is something under 200$ I don't want anything too fancy, it's just a controller after all. I found these two that seem decent:

M-Audio Keyrig
E-mu Xboard

Basically I'm looking for something that's velocity sensitive, the keys feel nice, and it works in both FL Studio & Reason. A review for the keyrig said it didn't work in FL studio (it didn't, "work right"). I'm not sure what to think of that cause he/she didn't really get into the specifics. As for the Xboard: it looks pretty good, but I don't have the sound card needed for the software included, so I'm paying money for software I can't use.

I have the M-Audio Keyrig, I like it a lot. The keys have good pressure sensitivity, but they're a little light and springy. The only downside is it's a bit hard to play a tremolo on one note, because it has to come up all the way before you hit it again or else it won't register the second time. But really not bad for the price.

Damn, I think Newgrounds is slowly driving me insane.

Cool, have you tried it with FL Studio?

get the M-Audio Axiom 25(or 49 whatever you want) USB Controller. It's got 25 keys + 8 touch sensitive pads (you can use it with FPC, easier for drum & percussion).

It's about 180$ CDN

I have Logic, and I use it with that. Though I'm not much of a keyboard player and end up going into the piano roll and adjusting all the notes and their velocities anyway. It really jumpstarts my inspiration though, I just fiddle with it until I compose something I like.

If you just use your right hand to play, the modulation and pitch bend wheels are easy to operate with your left hand while recording in real time. I still like to adjust those things manually for optimal precision, but they're really helpful in finding the right sound sometimes.

Wow, gave it a look and it seems really sweet. I'm really interested in the 49 key one (25 is a bit small for me). I'm torn between that and the xboard at the moment. The Axiom just looks, and those touch pads are awesome, but it's a pretty big price difference between the two. I think I'm gonna go with the Axiom though. Thanks for the help guys :)
