Is it possible to make a video that can actully be put on New Grounds without the Flash Video maker thing that costs alot, or can be downloaded for 30 days for free? Cause I have some videos I'm working on in other NONE-FLASH programs I could post if I can.

You can't just submit any kind of video. It must have some form of animation (like clay animation, for example). It must alse be in .swf format.

If it's going to be a video that doesn't involves any kind of animation art, perhaps the best place to submit it would be
YouTube.

If the reason you aren't animating if because you don't want to buy Adobe Flash, you could try LiveSwift.

The only type of file you can upload is a .swf, you could look for a free converter that will convert to .swf and doesn't leave a watermark and then upload that. But no, only .swfs are allowed on the flash portal.

Is this 100 percent true though? I remember while looking through videos back in 04 that there were a couple that didn't have any animation too it and I still have seen a couple recently that don't. I just think its frowned upon to not have animation in a submission.

Anyways, not if you don't convert it to an .swf file.

Where did you get this theory from?

Hmmm. I didn't knew those existed. Can you hand me a link of some sort?

Admitting there isn't an specific rule that says you can't showcase all kinds of videos , I don't see the point in uploading a random video here. If you aren't going to use computer animation, at least use some form of animation or Flash generated content. It's common sense =/

But hey, if you are allowed to do it, then nobody is stopping you. I'm just saying that this isn't the place for that, so don't expect a good response from the viewers. I'd like if a qualified person can clarify this, though.

You can download Adobe, but it's only a free trial.

All of those had flash content in them. All.

Preloaders, control, buttons, etc.

I'm speaking of recording a video, converting it to .swf and uploading it here. How are you going to load/control them?

Okay, that one is real proof. This brings up a bigger concern, though: Why would the administrators approve of this?

Let's use the example you linked. Why would you be able to submit a video of a dog licking a screen? If it was made in flash, no matter how random it is, it's still flash: that would be OK. But since when is the Flash Portal the place to upload something completely unrelated to Flash or Newgrounds? It doesn't makes sense.

If it had at least something done in flash, you could say ''but hey, he used Flash in part of it''. But is this the place to submit plain videos?

A question better suited for the Flash Forum.

Just remember that is not the full version of flash, it contains parts and pieces of it.

Well, some of afro-ninja's submissions are videos and not actual animations:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/41 4433

I've even seen videos of people just dancing to linkin park make it into the portal and stay forever. So, as long as it it's in .swf format, despite what it was made it, it can be eligible for the portal (assuming it doesn't break any rules)
