Ng copyright flash?

I'm kind of curious...

if I submit a flash to NG... it gets 'copyrighted' by me?

i know that the Audio portal.. every song has the Creative Commons license... but I was curious about 'flash license'

I don't think so, because many flash artists have their websites and they use newgrounds to show their creations because plenty of people visit here everyday. However the flash is yours and nobody can steal it because IT IS YOURS.

Everybody can rip music, edit it, and say that it's yours, however, editing a flash is imposible but you can steal the ideas from it.

Yes. As soon as you make it, it's copywrited by you. You don't even have to submit it anywhere and it's still yours.

You own that flash and are free to use it and upload it where ever you please. It also means that other people are not.

Not exactly. Just submitting to NG doesn't give you any legal rights to the flash if it were stolen and used on another website aka you wouldn't be able to go to court if you saw someone took your flash. The only way to fully protect your flash would be to obtain a US copyright from the government. But you should know that copyright doesn't cover an idea such as a story, or game idea, or even any titles or logos you use because those are too broad to be protected. In most cases of flash, copyright is only issued to protect a code used in a flash.

Actually I just saw that it says that making the file gives you the right to threaten legal action on websites that are using it without your permission even without a US copyright. I got my info confused.

I don't think you understand what copyright is, and how it works.

Or else you thought he was saying "it gets copyrighted by... NG?"

NG holds no rights to your flash, which is why authors here also have their own sites where they sell their DVDs with their animation episodes on it, and NG doesn't get a cut of the sales or anything.

NG just gets ad revenue for your own, individual, creative products, which you have copyright to whether you claim it outright or not in the author's comments... the moment you create it/upload it.
