I have had this program for a while, no idea where it came from but its called "weather channel desktop." Recently it directed me to update at some website and required me to download something called Active-X. I heard it was a Microsoft program so I let it but it let in several viruses.
Im not completely sure if its a worm or trojan. So far it changed my desktop backround advertising an anti-spyware company, changed the time my computer displays to " VIRUS ALERT", blocked my permission to go into any programs, changed the name of drive C, and deleted all sorts of random programs. It is also trying to access my computer from several IP addresses.
I have ZoneAlarm Suite, its a very fancy program thats been invincible to everything before but I was dumb enough to let this one through my firewall. Right now I believe I got rid of the virus but my computers still messed up. It keeps poping up with ads for the company that will suposivly fix my comp but my guess is that its the same company that sent the virus. It claims I have Worm.Win32.Netbooster but I dont wanna trust a virus.
Does anyone know anything about repairing viruses or a website that can help me learn how stop it? Any helpful advise?
