This mysterious countdown has been found by a bunch of Bungie/Halo fans. It is in the tradition of Bungie to make weird code-like countdowns that make no sense to us.

All I know is that it lands right in E3 so we're more than likely really going to hear about Bungie's next game.

I'm guessing Marathon. The page says 'Out of the Ashes' which would make sense with Marathon, a franchise which has effectively been dead for a good while. It'll probably be Halo though. It's too much of a money maker.

I think they want to get away from Halo. That's all they have heard for like 7 years now. A new Marathon would be cool and the end of Halo 3 lead me to believe that it is possible.

Guys. They can't do Halo, Microsoft owns the rights to it, and since they've split off from MS, there's no way it's another Halo game.

Yeah, but the rumors of Halo 4 being announced at E3 just seems so convenient.

Maybe the Halo games is the Peter Jackson Project and Bungie's game is completely different? I could see that happening. I'm wondering if this can be one of Microsoft's 2008 titles though. I know Insomniac pumps out a quality game each year, but is Bungie a big enough studio to do that? For them to be ready to ship this holiday, they'd have to have been working on it along side Halo 3. We'll see I suppose.

A new game from Bungie this year? Jeez. I know a few companies do that but Bungie usually waits a few years. I kind of hope they do too because I do too. Especially if it were to be a new Halo game. If it were something else other than a shooter I'd be fine with it though. Some sort of platformer would be awesome.

It's another game set to the Halo Universe, unless this is all just a distraction.

The weird part is that all the poasts are dated 2004 but the site ilovebeesis all screwy, this is an obvious market ploy by Bungie and Microsoft and is really perplexing to try and crack.

They're on fine terms. Microsoft allowed them to go and there was no hostility or bad words. They didn't just pack up and leave in anger.

None the less I'd imagine a developer leaving a publisher for more independence or what not would want to stay away from said publisher for a bit.

Halo isn't a 'story' to them, it's a cash cow which they'll keep milking for profit. That's the reason these people make games, for profit.

I think it will be a non-FPS halo game ( a bit unlikely) or a new Marathon game.

Didn't Bungie say that Halo 3 was the end of the current story arc? I'd like to see that series end, and move onto something else.
