I am using Flash 8, and for some reason if I motion tween a (overhead) character, it doesn't do it right! I've seen this work properly with CS3, so is it my version, or something else?

This isn't any difference between motion tweening in Flash 8 and CS3. What exactly are you trying do do, and what doesn't look right?

make sure the point of rotation (that little circle that pops up when you're using the free transform tool) is the same at the beginning and end of the tween, I think that'll do it!

Yeah, also make sure the object you want to tween is the only object on that layer.

It's a seperate movieclip, it's a overhead view of a guy, with a field of vision infront.
When I turn him around, and tween it, it just plays him moving a little bit backwards, and doesn't tween the turn!

Try to have him just turn without directional movement

Or if you can just...(can you do quarter turns using the rotate cw thing?) if you can use that instead
