Simply posting in a thread that have broken the rules? A friend of mine was banned and he didn't know why he was I don't know why exactly cause he never told me what he did but he acts like a normal being but you'll never know when it comes to the internet

If a thread is deleted by a moderator, he may either ban only the topic starter, or ban him and all those who posted in it (also known as a mandatory ban).

So, like NEVR explained, he may have posted in a spam thread that got deleted with a ban to all the posters.

Well the thing you have to do is that if there is even a possibility that it could be spam then you should stay away from posting in it. They usually aren't good for anything except a small laugh here and there sometimes anyway.

I would imagine that it's nothing more than simple curiosity to see what it's like to be banned in the first place. The fact that he only has 4 posts at present would indicate that he's still somewhat new to the whole BBS. Truthfully, I don't believe that he's doing this for any kind of maliciousness or malice; I doubt that this is the kind of action that your typical forum troll would commit.

After reading some of his reviews and other stuff around his profile I really don't think he is doing it out of curiosity. I think it's more on the line of an alternate account just messing with people. Of course there isn't anyway that I can prove it, but it does seem like a pretty good chance.

Unless you're going away on vacation or are going to be really busy with school, work, and/or life or other net/gaming things for a week or two.

In which case, feel free to post in ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL teh spam topics (provided you're actually providing karmic balance against the OPs therein... you'll still get banned if everyone in the topic is banned, but you'll get the minimum that way.... if you go above and beyond the call of duty, you might end up with a ban as long as the OP's ban. #;-}>)

Then, your ban will hopefully coincide with your absence from posting on the BBS, anyway.
