This dude contacted me today and he's legit so i'm wondering how much i should sell my beats for.

In the past i've sold them fro anywheres from 30-60 $ CAD. but now i'm thinking since i'm moving up the food chain i should be charging more...

I really dont know how much to price my beats.

Here is what he said :

"Hey what's going on,

This is DJ Little Row, Street Diesel Entertainment's Offical DJ & DJ/Artist/CEO of Real Talk Entertainment. If you are not familiar with my company we are an up and coming label. Our first offical single Jamie Sparks Featuring Lucius Kayne-All I Need (Remix) is on heavy rotation at z103.5 and getting airplay all across the country. As a DJ I have worked with BloodRaw (CTE/Def Jam), Roccett (CTE/Def Jam) Scrilla (Universal) Big Steele (Cash Money Records) Alfameaga (Grand Hustle Records), Nappy Roots & many more. I am interested in getting your Club Banger & Goin Nowhere. Hit me up and let's make a couple hits!

Thanks
DJ Little Row "

If you want to see the beats he is tlaking about you can visit this link Myspace

Thank you in advance...

Encouraging, coming from a freshly registered guy with a demo version of FL 6. A small tip: if you offer criticism, please, make it helpful, instead of just saying 'your stuff sucks'. Imagine how that would make YOU feel (if you had any songs submitted).

Can you please leave and never come back, cause everything you have done or posted on this site so far has either been abusive, or just plain stupid. So I'm sure I speak for most of the people here, when I say that you are not the kind of person we want on this website. (BTW, when you are a freshly joined user, it pays to be polite and respectful, or you're just gonna end up being hated right from the start.)

If you can swing it, I'd recommend licensing tracks for a percentage - Don't outright sell anything if you can avoid it. See if you can get an agreement for a lesser amount that's tied more closely to the success of whoever want to use it. What I mean is that if you sell me a beat that you made for $200 and I go nowhere with it, then you've made $200... If I make 2.5M - you've still only made $200. If I license your beat for use and agree to pay you a percentage - even something small, like 1%, then you could potentially make a lot more in the long run. Don't push too hard though - try to remember that right now, you're not really worth much. If you draw too firm a line, then they'll either just find one of the million other people that will do something similar for less - or they could just re-engineer your work and pay you nothing at all... Once you get a name, then you can start demanding a little more for your efforts.

I think it's great that you might have an opportunity to make something happen and I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Good luck!
