good sound effects?

Hey, I'm sure you guys get asked lame stuff like this all the time, but does anyone know where I can get a lot of good quality sound effects? Most of the stuff floating around on the net is lame. It would really help me out a lot.

Well we do get that question allot. Tho It might help If you tell us what program you use, and are you looking for something like a VST?

Heh, yes, I was mildly dismayed to return after two years and see that the project wasn't up. Do you still have all the submitted clips? Might be able to salvage it yet...

Back to the topic at hand, I use sonic foundry acid to mix my audio for my animations. I don't know what a VST is. If I could just get the sound effect files in the form of .wav or .mp3 that would be great. Problem is, I can't locate any clips with decent quality, and I haven't been able to find any CD's of the stuff that people are selling anywhere.

O well what sound effects do you want/need? never mind about VSTs I thought you were creating audio.
It is possible to create your own, or have some one help you out with it depending on the sound.
