4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsYes, yes. Pity me for i have the worst computer on the face of the earth. I can watch any movie in the highest quality, DLing like, 5 Mb in about a second. Ok, so I have a friggin' super computer taht can play any flash game without missing a frame and listening to an mp3 file all at once... even while checking stocks and useing the god awful limewire... but what does this mean? Not a whole hell of allot. See, unlike PCs, NOTHING is made for the iMac, except for a few elusive products. Thus, I can't DL the flash movie maker (its a .exe, read: alien extension)... so, the question must be asked... does anyone know where or how I could get my grubby little mits onto a copy of the software? I'd really like a free trial version first, but hell, at this point I'll take anything. I'm running on OS 9, btw (I hated OS X!!!!) so, anyhelp would be appreciated! Thanks!
Suzuki Out.

You can get a mac version of Flash. I had Flash 5 running on my iBook, OS9 a while ago.
Hey, thanks. Even to Doomhammer or whatever. I want to make these flash movies, but I'm not sure where to get the stuff. I'm looking on download.com now... thanks for all the advice and tips. Maybe you'll get a movie out of me. teehee
Jeeze...
www.macromedia.com
They even advertise Flash on Apple's front page from time to time.
That works too. I'm experimenting with stick figures currently, but when I have something of worth to put up, you'll be amazed. And I might just get the full version, and maybe upgrade to OSX. But, whats the goods about it? Why do I want or need OSX?
First off, I have to say, Mac Users Unite.
60 Gig G4 Cube, Wireless Broadband Airport, Mac OS X.2. The sweetness.
Anyway.
Flash 6 for Mac OS X - Get OS X, and get Flash. It's awesome, so much more features, so smoother, so... jawesome.
Oh, and, dude - get OS X anyway. Why'd you hate it?
Ok. So maybe i will, and then I'll get the latest flash while I'm at it. I had originally got my iMac for art, as I didn't find a PC worth useing at my present level of skill. Unfortunatly, I didn't know much about Mac... and my computer isn't very good. (Still better then all my friends PCs though ^.^) So maybe this is the step i need to take for my system to get better for art. Thanks again all... and if you have any further advice for a new apple user like me, let me know.
Very good point, but I have found the iMac easier to use when it comes to graphix and such. I know people with PCs who can do amazeing jobs, but, at my skill level, its easier to manipulate images with the Mac. Sure, the PC is far more friendly then the very pissy iMac, but these are the pros and cons. I have never had a bigger headache with such a huge reward from a PC as I have with the iMac.
Currently, I'm doing up a flash based on my own art work. When I'm done, it will be up.
I hate iMac's Pc's are more reliable and easier to handle. Plus I hate that noise the iMac makes when you click something to much. It drives me crazy
I still find it easier... like, for a PC, to implant/embed an object into the picture your working with, you either have to snip it out and drop it on to it via c&p, or just layer the image over it. iMac however (which allows more then one window on the screen at any given time) allows you to drag it over to the other image. Far simplier in my view. Also, if you wish to have that image isolated, you simply have to drop onto the desktop instead of re-creating it in a new file to save it. I enjoy that more then anything. And as for the sounds... I enjoy those too. Its like saying, hey you twat, you click one more time and I'll kick you in the nuts, Or something. Over all, I would rather have a PC for entertainment, but an iMac for work.
Again... (too keep the thread from being sidetracked, which it is) the movie is coming allong nicely.
Sorry for Double Posting but I almost forgot... the imac also has one extra feature most don't know about. (Though I rarely use it, as you can tell) You can spellcheck any document... i.e. like what I'm typeing right here. This means I don't have to waste time opening word to spell check something I'm posting. The same file command also reads the page to me, can do stamps, find/replace words, caps on and off, and many, many other features which makes almost every place I can type on act like Microsoft word. I wish that everyone had this, its soooo neat.

You are fucking moron.
Have a nice day.
I totally agree. I'm Using a mac on osx.2 and I love it. The interface is simple easy and user friendly. Macs are computers for applications and work. Ask any serious graphic designer or worker they'll use a mac if they know whats good for them.
PS when's 10.3 coming out and whats it's codename?
Panther, OS 10.3, is coming out... 2004, I think. Too lazy to go have a look, so, If you really want to have a look, goto the Mac OS X section of Apple.com
