I wonder what life would be like if internet access had been available to the public in the 1980s?

So? Maybe there was not a graphical interface or http, but there was an Internet open to the public in the 1980s.

Really? In the '80s the internet was unheard and computers back then weren't sophicated enough.

Anyone remember the Amiga?

If you're talking about having an interdick like this in the 80s, then there would be tons of memes ranging from the decades of the 70s, 60s and stuff. Over 9000 would be created as soon as that episode of DBZ was created, SHOOP DA WOOP would also be created when the specific DBZ episode aired. Basically, memes and intershit culture would be known to all during this time of day, and memes being said irl without someone saying "What?"

So yeah, stuff.

"meme" is a just a goofy word coined by Dawkins. it is to information and communication what "gene" is to biology and reproduction.

The first domain was purchased in 1985, so yes, there was the internet. However, not many people used it because they thought it was just a shitty fad, but it did exist.

Memes are phrases shouted by people who cannot think of humour.

I think we'd be where we are now in the '80s but but now we'd be more techno-advanced.

The internet would be filled with dorkiness, and then people who liked the internet
back then would be saying "Oh, you should've seen how much better the internet was back in
the day" but the truth will be: it's much better now than it was in the past

Life sure would have been a heck of a lot easier-today it seems like no one can't get along if you don't have the web.

There would be nothing but Micheal Jackson fan club sites. Or society would have died out cause someone would have hacked the U.S. military and started a nuclear war. Either that or President Reagan would have accidently hit the "End The World" button on his desk while stroking it to '80's internet porn. Anyways we would be fucked.

It would have been easier to buy toys back then-You could just show your parents where you want to buy your toys from instead of trying to get them to take you where you want them from.

Weird Al would be all over the place, Amiga would have a couple of sites up.

There'd probably be on-line fanclubs.
