Do you like it?
Right now i have iPod/iTunes and i dont like the idea that they are MPEG4 and that the songs cost a buck each. I like the idea that on Zune Pass you get whatever song you want. I dont really care about the players themselves (iPod vs Zune Player) as much as iTunes Store vs Zune Pass/Marketplace.

But the software BLOWS on the PC. I love my Zune but the software makes me scream iTouch

I don't see where you are going thinking that songs from the Zune Marketplace are not a dollar. If you do the math from Microsoft Points to $ you get $1 from 79 Microsoft Points.

Audiophiles like them because, apparently, they have better sound quality than iPods. But that's just with a trained ear.

Functionally, I love it. I think the touch pad works well with the GUI as it flows with it.

As far as style, sound quality, and capabilities go:

1. iriver - I own a clix cause it plays OGG vorbis
2. Zune 80 - Try Zune Originals to get free artwork/engraving on your zune.
3. Creative - They make the Zen and other high quality sounding players
4. iPod - They're all crap but promoted it well enough to get 72% of the market share
5. Anything else - Sony, samsung, storage manufacturers, off brands, they all suck.

I just turn on my Zune when I want to add music. Nothing more. I just listen to music at home on Winamp.

What's wrong with the software? I like it. The only thing I don't like is the "Now Playing" screen, so I just don't use it.

There are plenty of services online where you can buy music cheaper than in the Apple store and all you have to do is import the songs to your iTunes library.

There would be no point in getting a Zune just for Zune Pass.

I've found that iPods have, by far, the best interface, sound quality, software, and music selection.

The screen is really good, but I have synching issues with the Zune alot...

I still really really like it.
