Halo for PC problems

Yeah, I don't know if this is the topic to post it, but I'm having problems with halo 1 for PC. (If this is against anything the mods can just lock it, anyways.....>.<) I've been playing the game for a few months online now, and suddenly, I've been lagging like crazy, even in a game with ping below 50. I've never really lagged before, and nothing's changed with my computer or internet....charter cable internet connection....and I hate it, because i've never lagged before, and I'm suddenly finding myself falling off cliffs, running into walls, or just suddenly dropping dead.....any solutions?

Maybe there is a virus on your computer? You should do a virus scan.

That was my first thought, but I've run MANY virus scans, and have yet to find any...that and newgrounds is basically the only web site I go to, other than gamefaqs

It is probably just the game itself. I play every now and then and when it lags what you said is exactly what happens. I have a great connection as well, there are just a lot of laggy games on Halo 1. Try shutting off programs you don't need to be running while you're playing Halo. The rest depends on what game you join and how the connection is.

I own the game but i havent played recently so i wouldnt know. Try a reinstall or something. Perhaps a file is ***ked up
