I play games because it's part of me. What TV is to some people, gaming is to me. I've been known to pick up the pencil every so often, and I read for (up to) hours every night. I just often prefer gaming - it's not just watching TV, it actually lets you interact with it - to change things, engross yourself in a well-done story, and put yourself into it. It's a way to fight on a battlefield without actually getting killed every 10 seconds. It lets you mess with physics. It's far better than simply sitting on a couch.
I've been gaming since I turned 6, when I was given a gameboy pocket for my birthday. I knew that it was going to be my primary source of electronic entertainment the moment I turned it on.
I've been gaming for most of my life - it's part of who I am. I'm not some couch potato, I'm not some soap opera buff, I'm not Picasso or Tiger Woods, I'm a gamer.
That doesn't mean I hate TV. I just don't make it a part of my life like half the people I know.
