The most addicted user I know is this guy called SlashFirestorm. He is kinda weird though lol... since he writes pokemon hentai Fan Fiction. (no offense fire)

He is mainly addicted to making news posts. He has deleted about 200 of them.

did you just forgot about NEVR
right now... he is the MOST addicted... yes I think he defeated Slash... XD

he never log off...
I remember a joke... "his logout button doesn't work" XD

11,000? Could apply to a lot of people, particularly certain mods (ramagi, for example, has over 16,000). Last I checked, the dude with the highest post count is ZeroAsALimit, with over 47,000, though I don't know if that's still true.

Anyways, you're forgetting one person. One man who gets over 100 B/P every day, who used to have one submission of his own each day plus co-authorings on other people's stuff, whose series led to a number of different spin-offs (two or three of which didn't do to shabbily themselves) until Wade finally put his foot down, said "ENOUGH!" and deleted one, and he decided that the series was too much work. I'm talking, of course, about the #1 B/Per on Newgrounds, AfroUnderscoreStud. The only way anyone can spend as much time B/Ping as him is if they're pretty damn addicted.

Ya, theres no going back after getting 30,000 expirence points.

Pimp is a collection of users all logging in to the same account. The problem with this account is that it's only there to gain experience points.

Pimp, or his collective syndicate, are not addicted to Newgrounds. People like me are addicted to Newgrounds, as we indulge in most aspects of the site. I fact, the only real region of the site that I don't partake in is creating flash and audio. I think I will at some point - I just need to get some money together first. When the finances are sorted, I can buy the expensive equipment.

Which would probably explain why he is always on the BBS when there is a topic made about him or them.

I actually never thought I would have a flash on this website, especially after I did make an attempt at a flash that took me a couple of days and it was blammed right away. It wasn't a good movie and I wouldn't vote high on it either, but I'm sure half of the zeros that it got were people just voting 0 without watching knowing that my first movie had more chances of getting blammed then it did making it. I'm actually happy it did get blammed now though. I have a couple of flashes that I have co-authored with and I'm writing for a couple more artists right now. I have three projects that I'm writing for at the time. Some are good enough to make the top 50 for awhile, win a trophy, or even make the front page. The others will probably just fall of the map of newgrounds for hardly anyone to see.

I only come on here due to that I rarely have anything to do around the place I live.

I do occasionally go out, but since where I live is mostly a shithole (And I mean a shithole) there isnt much stuff to do, especially for my age, that is.

Well if there was anything much to do around the place that I live then I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be on newgrounds as much, but since I babysit for several hours almost everyday during the week with three girls who like to get on the computer, watch tv, and play playstation I really don't have anything else to do. So I get on newgrounds for hours after hours only to make my eyes feel like I haven't slept for hours at a time. I do plan on not being on newgrounds too much in the near future though because there are a couple of flash projects probably going on that will keep me busy.

After you all turn about 17..18ish you won't have this addiction, and will learn how to turn the computer off.

Thats what happened to me a while back at least.. I used to be addicted to the internet, not so much now.

Well I'm turning 20 pretty soon and I'm still pretty addicted to the computer.

I hope this to come true sometime, but just not soon. I have too much fun on newgrounds.

I can understand that, but its because everywhere I go now is completely bollocks, in fact, half the good places I went to either turned into strip-clubs, pubs (18+ only, no children whatsoever) or shitty gambling/bingo halls.
And thats pretty much where the arcades, decent shops and social areas I could actually get into, but they keep replacing it all with this crap no child or teenager wants.

In fact, Im betting its a reason why we have so much vandalism and crime nowadays, because so many teenager and children are just bored.

Don't count on it. It only got to a high amount because some guys ended up derailing it and using it to add to their post count.

Anyway, as for me, I'd use this place as an escape from reality, mostly during my junior year of high school, mostly because I was going through the most crap of all years so far. It kinda sticks to you once you start going in depth with this place.

I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP. You're that dude who started the damnable Kitty Krew topic I stopped reading after a page or two and then noticed got locked after it hit 12 pages or so in an insanely short period of time (for Wi/Ht?, at least).

NO WONDER.

I think that you become addicted to the NG coke when you reach level 5.

I hit level 9 sometime between 2000 and 2002, but never got addicted to NG until I stumbled across both the blam/protect system and the BBS in January 2003. Adding both of those activities to just plain movie/game watching/playing and occasional voting without caring about exp (at first).... = guaranteed recipe for disaster.

NG is just a damned good site with a lot of things to do on it and less of the "commercial appeal" feel than a lot of other websites that have come out since NG was created.

At 7/1/08 01:11 AM, SoulMaster71 wrote: Ah, so that's your hope... Trying to recreate your old magic, eh, FatKid? This, like the last, probably belongs in General, but we all know what a toilet that place is; it would get filled with shit and leave the first page in an hour, likely never to be seen again. Not as bad as the last one would have though, since NG addictions are a less controversial topic, for the most part, than spam crews. Of course, that also means that you might not get as many pages out of this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who smelled the REEK OF GENERAL all over this one.

Still, this looks to be a much better discussion than his damned Kitty Krew one, so... let's give it a chance.

No kidding. Hell, even *I* have over 11,000 posts now. O_o

11,000 posts = 100 people on NG BBS, minimum. I fell out of the top 100 posters a long time ago (granted, while I was still around 9500 posts, but still).

But can you even blame him for putting it here? General is, as I said, a toilet. It's the official NG Garbage Dump, where a bunch of Level 5s make inane topics about masturbation because their thinking organs are their genitals, not their brains. I don't avoid it, however many Wi/Ht? regs, yourself included, almost never go there, and I don't blame ya for not wanting to post in that particular part of the BBS.

What a great start on a thread. I hope I get as many pages as i did on the WTF Kitty Krew Forum.
I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP. You're that dude who started the damnable Kitty Krew topic I stopped reading after a page or two and then noticed got locked after it hit 12 pages or so in an insanely short period of time (for Wi/Ht?, at least).

Huh WHAT?! It had 50 pages at locking, though later account deletions must have lowered the count to 49. Also it went on from November to June: a good 8 months.

NG is just a damned good site with a lot of things to do on it and less of the "commercial appeal" feel than a lot of other websites that have come out since NG was created.

In b4 LordZeebmork or someone shows up saying how Wade has "sold out". Admittedly he and Tom kinda have taken a more commercial and less artistic direction than they did for most of the site's history, deleting Flash and locking accounts for so much as the appearance of a swastika in the Flash, Web 2.0 BS like blogs, and all that. Honestly, I think a little bit of so-called "spam" here and there (not a massive attack like Camel Day or Mozz Museum, nor theft of Underdog, RCP, or Turd, just a few spammers submitting a few things per week to keep NG on its toes) isn't really that much of a bad thing.

At 7/1/08 01:11 AM, SoulMaster71 wrote: Ah, so that's your hope... Trying to recreate your old magic, eh, FatKid? Whoa, hold on there man. You really can't discriminate against the KK topic... I mean, I was less experienced as a poster, he was less experienced as a poster, hell all of us involved were less then than we are now, except people like JerkCock who showed up to flame us for caring, or people like NEVR who, how shall I say this, tried to persuade us to take a more "moderate" course of action and not rant against the KK for a million hours, but just ended up being strongly misunderstood by me. That thread did a lot of good for me though: gave me a place to improve my posting, introduced me to Wi/Ht so that I could eventually figure out Rage's and rank up my Whistle, introduced me to some amazing people and got me involved with things that I would otherwise never have been involved with.

ANd the only reason the thread was locked was because spammers took over and started posting random pictures everywhere. Just look at the thread for christ sakes! Oh and it is a discussion thread, so that is why I posted it into the Questions thread. Me and others have repeated that like 500 times.

I think alot of the reason is thats is so addictive is the redesign. I mean with 60 levels you got a massive amount of fun ,getting there plus it does not take half a year to get there. Your userpages look feel the whole site had a major revamp.I love Rage thread the fun is the games bbs. The bbs is one of my favourite to lurk since i joined EGB and NGDD. I agere general a bit of a mess. As for the comment about switching of after yout 17 i first joineed in 2001 when i was only 18 but i changed my username. I had long breaks but i been back, two years next month. I love deposting i would have been level 38. The thrill of a new weapon is amazing i love it. I cant understand why people dont deposit anymore.

Archer I'm a good shot!

Well ?I dont know about the levels making NG so addicting. I have failed to vote 5 a day for a long time now... better get back to doing that. I can't wait until the Chat and updates in the audio portal come along.

Like a virus that spawns candy everywhere you go. BUT THE CANDY CONSUMES OUR LIVES. Curses to the candy! Ohh... but it is very good candy.

So this is mainly about WHO IS ADDICTED TO NEWGROUNDS AND WHY, and Why newgrounds is addicting.

Its like drugs or something.

Well, the feeling of leveling up is cool. And there's stats that keep going on forever.

But can you even blame him for putting it here?

Yes, I can.

FOR a General style topic, it's actually quite decent, yes. Like I already said.

That said, if we start welcoming and encouraging and/or being okay/settling for even moderately good General-style topics here, what makes this forum different.... what makes this forum a refuge FROM General... erodes. Lessens. Shrinks.

It's like saying "hey, this is one of the best of the bad sorts of virii or bacteria... we don't need our white blood cells to attack this one, let's let it stay." Well, unless by staying it's helping the immune system in the end to fight far worse things later on... I vote no.

The last time I read it must have been when it was on page 12. It stuck in my mind for some reason, that page #.

Past that point, I put it on my ignore list, which for Wi/Ht? = The Computer Hospital topic and Rage's Gift: Abusive Reviews topic (and back then, the KK topic, too)

In b4 LordZeebmork or someone shows up saying how Wade has "sold out". Admittedly he and Tom kinda have taken a more commercial and less artistic direction than they did for most of the site's history, deleting Flash and locking accounts for so much as the appearance of a swastika in the Flash,

That one right there isn't exactly evidence of the commercialisation of NG, IMO. That's just private website owners deciding they don't want to tolerate infinite free speech, and having some reasonable line in the sand that they won't let users cross and cross and cross again and again with impunity, that's all.

Web 2.0 BS like blogs, and all that.

Now yes, the MySpaceification of userpages, what with news posts and now YouTube vids and all, is somewhat more of a "trying to be like the 2.0 crowd and being more mainstream/commercial," yes.

Honestly, I think a little bit of so-called "spam" here and there isn't really that much of a bad thing.

Spam in the portal is different from spam in the BBS, and both are very very different from Nazism/racism-espousing/mocking/obsessin g in either place.

Still, this looks to be a much better discussion than his damned Kitty Krew one, so... let's give it a chance.
Whoa, hold on there man. You really can't discriminate against the KK topic...

Uh... yes, yes I can. And I do indeed choose to. Sorry.

I mean, I was less experienced as a poster, he was less experienced as a poster, hell all of us involved were less then than we are now,

You'll notice I didn't call anyone specific out, except maybe him for creating it. Just a moment here and I'll get to why the topic was a bad bad thing. (below, in my reply to FatKidWitAJetPak... see point B down there)

As for the topic helping you to grow as a poster.... there's plenty of other topics on this forum (and hell, even on General, or many other forums on this BBS) that would have done that. So don't talk like it was some magical petri dish that you owe your entire NG persona to now. O_o

I wonder what would be the limit for the Top 100 posters today?

I dunno. If I had to guess, I'd guess.... 10,800 to 11,200.

Humantarget52, Pimp, bomb... Heck, 40% of the Top 50 are probably alliances of individuals depositing for accounts.

I doubt it's that high. Less than 10 of the users, so 20% at most.

At 7/4/08 07:09 PM, FatKidWitAJetPak wrote: ANd the only reason the thread was locked was because spammers took over and started posting random pictures everywhere. Just look at the thread for christ sakes! Oh and it is a discussion thread, so that is why I posted it into the Questions thread. Me and others have repeated that like 500 times.

A) Spammers taking over is why the thread got to 50 pages, yes. And it was a bad thing to have happen anywhere on NG, but especially on a non-General forum. HOWEVER... your topic itself is to blame for that indirectly. I'm not saying you asked for the spammers to come to it, but you'll notice that NO OTHER TOPICS on this forum have that problem.

Also, even though you didn't ask for it, you've already made at least one post in THIS topic about whether this will get as many pages as that topic did. You clearly derive some sort of personal pleasure or pride in making a long topic (You said: "I hope I get as many pages as i did on the WTF Kitty Krew Forum."). That's okay, though... I like it when my topics get long, too. A lot of us do. It doesn't really MEAN anything, but it's kinda like another stat to whore. But I don't sit back and let spammers take my topics to 50 pages without complaining/asking a mod to get rid of them. I'd rather lose 50% of the posts in a topic of mine that let shit like that be the reason it's so damned long.

B) "How the hell does the kitty Krew stay on newgrounds?"

That was the main premise of your KK topic. And it just isn't a good discussion for this forum. You also went on to say:

"And the clock krew is O.K... The Star Krew has good graphics some of the time... BUT THE KITTY KREW IS COMPLETLY IMMATURE! I just don't understand some of the humor that people have! Well... Does anyone no of any other really annoying group?"

Your second question after "OMG, WHY ISN'T KK EITHER BANNED BY WADE AND TOM OR BLAMMED BY THE USERS EVERY TIME THEY SUBMIT?!!?!?" (which is basically what your main question translates to, and sounds like any random review to a "crew flash")... is now "HEY GUYZ... WHO IZ AS BAD AS TEH KK??!?!!?"

Instead of polluting our great forum with that lame excuse for a reason to start a topic, and all the other stuff it ended up indirectly causing later, you should have made a club on the C&C forum called Anti-KK Club or something.

For all I know, such a thread already exists there, of course. In which case you should have just joined that club and bitched about the KK there.

KK = a portal issue.

Discussing the KK = a pastime on General.

Not here. Clear now?

Now, discussing why NG is addicting = an acceptable topic of discussion both on General AND here on Wi/Ht?, I will have to admit. So congrats on making a much better 2nd "big Wi/Ht?" topic. I won't say I hope this topic gets more pages for ya than the KK one did, because I'm not going to wish that hell on earth on my home here on NG BBS...

But I will say I hope this one survives longer (i.e. without getting deleted or locked) than the 8 months SoulMaster says your other one did.

That's the best good wishes yer gonna get from me. #;-}>

NG was just as addictive before the redesign, sorry.
