time travel is a popular and commonly used concept sometimes overused but not as much as you would expect. The best movies i've seen have not only been entertaining but logical as well. the worst ones i've seen offered little insight as to how it would work.

The back to the future movies did it great they were entertaining and made you think about the consequences of time travel but in a very lighthearted way as well.

The terminator movies follow as well just because of the action and entertainment value alone but they offer little logic in too the concept of time travel since the whole movie takes place after the time travel happened.

I was disappointed with a sound of thunder and timeline. A sound of thunder mainly because it just plain sucked and had several logical flaws in it such as time changing in waves. Timeline was alright though compared to that other pile of junk but it was disappointing to watch I thought that the marines that went with them would not have been such pussies and died so early.

The movie adaptation of the time machine was a good movie by the time it ended but it was kind of dumb in ways. The super genius at the end gives the time machine back to the main character and he can read his mind as well yet he was trick and killed when he could have very easily killed the main character at any time. The logic was ok but left questions as well when he travels back to save his girlfriend he never encounters his past self he should have. his girlfriend dies again but he only tries to save her once with the machine and he should have tried more times. when he goes to the future to find the answer he is told that he built the machine because she died so if she never died it would never exist so he would be unable to go back and save her it makes sense so it puts some decent logic into the movie but not good logic.

whats your opinion on the best and wort time travel movies.

back to the future was pretty good, but only because it was one of the classics and original at the time. if it was made today, it would suck.

Back to the Future is the best time travel film I've seen. I haven't seen Timeline or any others really. Terminator was good. Can't think of any that I didn't like.

I liked that movie and they weren't dykes there was not one lesbian scene in that entire movie. It was a very deep drama.

his girlfriend dies again but he only tries to save her once with the machine and he should have tried more times.
let me stop you there. he didnt encounter himself in the past because we dont exist over given times. we exist only at one time, going back or forth in the timestream means plucking ourselfs out of the stream to go to a different point in time.

when he goes to the future to find the answer he is told that he built the machine because she died so if she never died it would never exist so he would be unable to go back and save her it makes sense so it puts some decent logic into the movie but not good logic.

I find it strange that some people actually like that movie. I hated the characters and almost every single scene.

The Time Machine (1960 version, not the shitty 2002 version) was probably the greatest movie about time traveling. Back to the Future was pretty good, too.

the 2002 one is ok but not good or great i started off thinking the main character was a lame-ass when he had this dazed look on his face. I wonder what the 1960 version is like though.

Back to the Future was created by a fucking genius. No joke. This guy made all 3 movies connect so well. I have seen all 3 parts at least 30 times a piece. It's great because I've found out something different or ironic about it every time I watched it up until about the 20th time. Ask me any question about the contents of the movie and I can almost swear to you I will get it right.

Bill and ted belongs on my best list. I also like the spy who shagged me not because of the time travel in it but because mike myers id hilarious. The first time i saw that movie I puked from laughing so much. The mini-me unveil was hilarious the first time I saw it and the rotating chair at the end.

All the Back To The Future films, and Terminator 1 and 2 are ace.

The worst time travel film has to be "Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 A.D."

I'll give you an idea of how little they even try to make it believable. It starts with a policeman being beaten up by thieves, and falling into Dr. Who's TARDIS, and being taken to the future. The film happens, and then at the end he asks to be brought back a few minutes early so he can stop the thieves. He's brought back, but surely his original self should be there too, since he won't have left for the future yet?

I'll second peyote - Primer is the most "realistic" time travel movie, even though it gets so crazy that I still intend to read the Wikipedia page to understand every step of it... But watch it before you do that.

I've heard the sequel is terrible. I've seen the first one, it was ok.
