If it is possible. I would love to do it. If it has already been done then... where.

I love bioshock. I got it for my computer, but my computer can't run it.... it's brand new and it can't run it. go figure...

Anyway I played the demo on some kid's xbox and while playing it when it ran smooth. Oh my god. When I saw the big daddy crush the splicer... I Want to play this game. So would it be possible to recreate a different part of rapture that you can play in flash with all the powers (plasmids

It would take an enormous amount of work! You seem to be one of those people who thinks making a game is easy, well it's not! Not only do you have to program it but you also have to do all the graphics! Now you want someone to recreate Bioshock, which by the way was done by a whole team of people! God, grab a brain then come back here.

theres no reason to be so negative. if he wants to make a flash version thats his choice. I personally endorse this endeavour and am happy to chip in if later in the process.

No need to be harsh on others just because they want to create something that would take an enormous amount of work, dedication, and passion.
It is true that creating a game is no easy task, and one should familiarize himself/herself with the tools used to achieve that idea.
You should start creating simple games, reading lots of books on programming, and practice a lot.
Remember that nobody is born learned. It is your will to learn and discover new things that will lead you to your goal.
In programming, just like in life, the journey is the destination.

Dude Neo-Fusion may look new but he is talented and aware of how hard it is, so you dont have to talk to him like he is completly a noob to flash. I think you can do it Neo, it will take a lot of time and it will be hard but if you have nothing else "time consuming" that you have to do go for it! (it is definitly something I wouldnt start when school is in session) but I am sure we all wouldnt.

Well I am wanting to put this thing on the shelf for awhile before I get a tablet.

The big thing here is I want to do it like Tom Fulp, have someone like Dan Paladin code it and such. I am not the expert coder (just a beginner) and a game like this calls for an expert coder. I would be happy to do the graphics in a doom style type game with the bioshock feel to it.

Umm, Tom did the programming, Dan did the artwork. And that's usually how things are set up.

To thread starter - to recreate it would be practically impossible. Just improve your computer. Or get it on xbox.

Don't bother. It's obviously FAR too much work for you. Just buy the game.

Very hard and time consuming to do, and it still wont be anywhere near comparable to even old FPS's available in the bargain bin

Maybe a simplified top down version, but I wouldnt shoot for full 3d

O RLY? SRSLY? NO WAI? "chill out chiWengi!"

OH hell no, just a 3-d area with doom styled monsters (2-d paper thin...) would do.

Um... good luck?

Aside from upgrading your computer or getting Bioshock on the Xbox, I'd say this is, to say the least, a teensy bit out of your league.

However, If you ACTUALLY ever end up learning advanced AS and still want to have a pseudo-3D engine for this game, you might want to take a look at Sandy.

Just offering advice if the time ever comes...

you obviously have no background in this so dont bother. Doing that is pretty advanced coding in flash and you seem to know NOTHING at the moment.

Oh kart and coolio believe me, I know a fair share of it. I am just to damn lazy to do it.... all of that coding...

Yeah, maybe the time will come. I was just throwing this out there to see if anyone was interested. I would gladly do the graphics.
