Why is the BBS so full of self-deprecating humor?

I mean, if you want to say something stupid, say it. Don't ruin it by writing something like:
": lolz... I am so original and funny..."
or some sh*t like that. Just do it.

And to that extent, I think that a lot of us have become afraid of the mods. Worrying how much is too stupid and spammy, and holding back that really funny comment you have to a spam thread. Take a chance! Who cares if you're banned! NG won't go away.

And what if the mods are ban happy. I say, have some fun with the BBS, and don't hold back ANYTHING. Sure, the NG might lose the high-quality standards as it has now. But who cares! Does anyone actually come on here to exchange smart, intelligent points. No! We come here to have fun. So have fun. Write some fun. And get banned sometimes.

I've been on a forum with alot of spam and "funny" posts. It wasn't so fun when you tried to have an important conversation and 10 people come in and start posting about there weekend.

I like the BBS the way it is.

Yeah, the only reason to fear the mods is if your life is the bbs or you want to eventually become a mod. But those are also the people who are afraid to make stupid jokes without indicating that they know the jokes are stupid

95% I can tell what a spam thread is, and when I post a flamming post in a spam thread I WILL BE BANNED FOR ADDING flames to it.

Also I just PM the spam topic maker with the reply, and end with "btw I thought your topic was a spam topic", done. Of course most spam threads are too stupid for me to even think about replying to.
