Scientists say it's NOT part of a historic cycle either.

CNN: Santa and his elves have been displaced by flooding, the waterlogged workshop has yet to be fully recovered. In related news, while the Kringle family has not released an official statement on the matter, experts predict a delayed Christmas present delivery this year.

In unrelated news; I'm enough of a nerd to get your name...

The north pole IS Greenland. Besides, the Earth has been covered by ice 5 or 6 times before, and Greenland and Antarctica is what's left of the last iceage. It would be unnatural if it's not gonna be covered by ice again!

Unless the Sun happens to decide to crank it up another 10 degrees over the summer, then no way on earth will this happen within two months. Twenty years, or thirty and we might see some major signs but that is just foolish to believe.

CNN :: this just in.
Chris Kringle aka Santa Claus is saying the very wonderful offer by Denmark to allow Santa's Workshop & supporting infastructure to set up in Northern Greenland, while appreciated , some how looses its distinction if they move there ,by having to call it 'Santa's Workshop north of the Arctic Circle' . Well it just doesn't have the same mystique as "North Pole"
Although he has said negotiations with the U.S. government for take over of the South Pole are ungoing.
Santa's Workshop in the South Pole, doesn't have a half bad ring to it ....we here agree.

Fuck you guys, Santa's not real.

But I do fear for the Easter bunny's most-of-the-year hiding place in ANWR.... and for the fact that melting will unleash manbearpig from his slumber.

WTF....
There is a war on Christmas, Wow where do I go to sign up ?
Sooner we get rid of it the better (actually I like the 'family get together part) but the commercialism has long since driven me away from it.
Gifts are home made, or something you can eat or drink....that is all I allow & I won't even except anything outside of that . Christmas...time to get back to the basic's & the family- in my opinion .

Oh really, I suppose you have proof that its not likely to happen, other then "it sounds stupid to me." You obviously wouldn't post something like this without evidence, otherwise you would look like a complete idiot. So I really like to see it.

Hate to burst your bubble there kid, but when even Fox News is reporting that it is likely, you know it is definitely NOT just global warming fluff.

It's also been reported that there's going to be a cooling trend for the next 10 years (just as there has been the past 10 years), so...

You can't honestly be that lazy, can you?

bloomberg

Note that it took them 10 whole years to figure this out while cooling was already in effect. And now they're coming up with excuses.

"Every time it's cooling, it's natural. Every time there's warming, it's Global Warming that's man-made".

I'm lovin' it.

Given the unpredictable short-term dynamics up there, which make the ice subject to vagaries of Siberian winds and a mix of currents, it is impossible to make such a claim with any degree of certainty.

i don't understand how there are piles of snow in the snow dumps that won't melt this summer yet a gigantic sheet of ice in much colder weather will.

An ice free North Pole is good for developing trade routes at the Northwest passage and exploration of fossil fuels. You can also go on a sailing expedition to the Arctic Ocean.

Santa doesn't exist, you dumbass! However, if those CNN guys really said that, they would take that insult. I will even write a complaint to Reuters if I have to.

Its impossible, there is no science in this article. The Earth would have to warm like twenty degrees.
