how big of a file size is that by itself? maybe he can make something to replace that part?

Well if tom responds and allows it, then It wouldn't really matter. Personally I say we should leave it un-altered, We want to keep the collab at all time high quality so we should stick with that.

Ok, sorry, I was wrong. It cannot be Studio-Nightbird's part - his part is barely 215kb.

I'll try compression and crap. I may have set the audio quality too high.

I was able to compress it to 21.5 meg.

And my internet is being a massive pain and keeps disconnecting every 5 minutes... BITCH!

If I can eventually upload this thing, I'll post the link here for you all to see and comment on before submission.

At the moment, I am unable to upload the file because the internet keeps disconnecting and stopping the upload. As soon as my internet starts working as well as it has been for the past 12 months, I will upload it for you all to see and comment upon before submission.

The Street Fighter Collab was roughly 28 megs, so Tom should allow it, especially since you compressed it from 30 megs to 21.

I really hope your internet gets better. I feel as if the fates are conspiring to keep this thing off Newgrounds. It'll get on eventually though, I have high hopes.

Last time I checked, my parts were roughly around 200KB each, while the preloader was 179KB.

I can't see how this is getting kicked up to 20MB, but if so, the Street Fighter Collab was way more. We should still be able to submit this.

hmm perhaps we could replace the background music for the "blurbs" page to a short loop. That might lower the file size a lot. something like this perhaps?

Well, SM could just loop the first 21 seconds of Darkness (the piano music just before the singing begins), and that would work out fine. Same thing with the track he used for the main menu (forgot which one that was). Since whoever is watching this is only going to spent a short while looking at the menu and the blurbs, there's no need to put the entire track.

I didn't put the entire tracks on. If you listen for a little while, you'll notice how 2-3 minutes of each track is not there.

Tom has not responded. He probably thought it was a joke and just ignored it. I contacted him and told him I compressed the file.

How big is the audio file?

DO not export the file at ADPCM at 44 kHz. Do it at 22 kHz. There will be some noise I think. If you still get 20 MB+ after this, screw this project. lol

Pming tom is always waiting a minimun of 3 days to get a reply, but he DOES reply, at least he's always replied to me. Maybe he's even busier this days.. Anyways I don't think lowering the quality is a good solution, there must be some other way to compress it..

I see Tom on the bbs right now. I hope he sees SM's PM.

Yeah, I'm doing it at 22 kHz. It's either MP3 out of sync with lower file size or ADPCM in sync with larger file size.

Still no reply from Tom.

WAY better to have a larger file size. I've seen collabs where the audio went out of sync and they got nailed on voting and review scores.

Not sure if this will help but play around with the settings on the MP3 audio export. Now its going at 28fps so try setting bit rate to 48kbps and see if its in sync.

WAIT try 56kbps that should work...also make sure the audio is stream and not event or start
