Here we are again...ANOTHER Sonic the Hedgehog game. Sonic's second attempt for success on the next generation of consoles is here and it's Sonic Unleashed. Sonic Unleashed looks to be better than Sonic's god awful 3D predecessors because it appears to utilize the powerful "Hedgehog Engine" to mesh seamless 3D and classic 2D camera transitions, whilst delivering a rich and expansive world with multiple paths to choose from. Also unlike Sonic the Hedgehog for Playstation 3 and X-Box 360, this game seems to give Sonic his classic sense of speed as he blazes through levels. This game also appears to have a feature where Sonic does an attack that lets him slam through enemies while going into a fast blur effect run. This technique also ricochets enemies into other enemies and obstacles.

One thing I found "interesting" about this game was Sonic's latest ability...transforming into a werewolf?! Yes Sonic has been seen transforming into a werewolf and that poses three questions for me.
1) Where did Sonic acquire this ability from and where does it come into play (well that was two questions, lol.)?
2) Will people think this is a rip-off from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess when Link transforms into a werewolf?
3) How in the hell can a hedgehog transform into a werewolf?!

I'm not sure, but it probably has something to do with that screeny where Sonic looked like he was getting surprise buttsecks.

I don't see how. Link transformed fully into a wolfcreature, and only when he entered an alternate dimension. Sonic just kinda looks like he hulks out and gets really hairy.

unleashed looks like there going back to their old side scrolling ways so i don't know why your crying about it.

Because it'd be boring. Sonic 1 and 2 were refreshing platformers. However Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles was kind of when down hill in terms of fun because they didn't really add anything new. Dude, seriously. Don't be judging games that haven't even come out, you little fucker. Not all storylines were shit, Sonic talking isn't a big deal, it's WHO'S his VA that's the big deal, and making another of the 3 originals would make SEGA seem desperate for trying to bring back Sonic with a game that's just plain...well...old. Besides, I think this has a shot since we have a new Producer for it.

Anyway, the whole werewolf thing is just a rumor. SEGA actually hasn't released an official screenshot of Weresonic. Those screenshots and video are more than likely hoaxes like that Super Mario Galaxy DS hoax. I have the OFFICIAL site for it.

Ryan Drummond was an excellent VA for Sonic, since he got his attitude down-pat.
Jason Griffith sucked at first, but got better over time, though he still can't hold a candle to Ryan.

However, if I had my druthers, I'd have Jaleel White return as Sonic's voice.

Supposedly, There will be Human NPC's in the game, just in a new chibi -style.
I can't wait, I hope they announce that there will be a Chao garden too.

Have you even been paying attention? A lot of the early info about Sonic Unleashed (including Weresonic) was leaked after Sega of America made their confidential FTP info available to the public on their public FTP server. That Weresonic image was from that FTP server.

Hmm, I stand corrected. I try to pay attention, but I just don't get the time to. So WereSonic exists.... Wow.... And with the gameplay, I can see a flaw.... WereSonic moves SLOW. Sorry, but since Sonic's all about speed, it's bad that his newest transformation makes him move slow. Not saying I still don't believe it, just pointing out a flaw in gameplay.

The Werewolf stages are basically "See how many enemies you can kill while getting to the end", instead of "See how fast you can get to the end". You're slower then the normal stages, but you're not really slow. You're just not as fast.

Also, Weresonic has the ability to use really stretchy arms, and to summon light meteors as a sort of final smash.

According to the trailer, this is the beginning cutscene: Robotnik is out to destroy Sonic, but Sonic tries to stop him...but gets caught, and becomes Robotnik's guinea pig. The experimentation goes horribly wrong, and Sonic breaks out of there as a Werehog. I don't know the rest.

It has a new theme song, "Endless Possibilities". It's going away from the "badass" stuff that recent themes had, and is trying to fit Sonic more. There's a little bit of rap, but otherwise it's great.

The graphics are styled now, instead of the realistic shit that previous titles had. Also, there's a scene in the trailer where you jump off a ramp, go in slo-mo, and push a button combination as fast as you can to get a speed boost when you land. And yeah, Sonic's model looks a lot more classic-styled now then "grown" like Sonic 2006.
