Umh, no, what does he do? The only thing concerning alcohol we have here is Bob, which is a guy who doesn't drink because he drives.

Picked up a six pack of Becks and a four pack of Bud Ice (which I've never tried before) for tonight and possibly a little bit of tomorrow. Dunno what I'm gonna do tonight, in respects to working or playing, but regardless, I'll sure be drinking :D

I really like bud ice, I wish they made it in cans. /=

It's better than busweiser select for sure.

It's grew on me over a few bottles actually. Better than regular Budweiser, and pretty refreshing. Better than Beck's anyway. I remembered that stuff to be better. Tastes like crap :(

I used to drink Beck's when I was short on cash, as it used to be much cheaper down my local pub. After the tax rise on alcohol in the UK though, it's gotten too expensive for what it is, so I just avoid it.

I mean, in most pubs now you'll pay around £3-£3.50 for a pint of decent lager. I went to a place yesterday that did pints of the slightly cheaper-end beer (Fosters and Carling) for £1.90. I know Fosters and Carling aren't the best of beers in the world, but hell, the price difference is well worth it IMO.

Students can't afford to be picky.

Becks is still my mainstream lager of choice, due to a cheap price and reasonable taste. I prefer Carlsberg Export, but not by enough to justify the price boost. If I have a complete free choice, I'll choose Pilsner Urquell, it's just so tasty.

Also, got pissed, and my stupid friend who wants to sleep with me isnt around.

gaaaaaay.

South west. We seem to have been affected pretty badly by the tax increase down here... some places are absorbing the tax at a slight loss to their establishments, but most of the more widespread pubs (George Gale co. for one, I believe) are charging £3.30 for a pint of Kronenbourg. Even the cheaper beers like Fosters are about £2.90 in those places.

come to think of it, before my local shut, they tried to charge 2.70 for a carling. obviously i just drank guinness there for less than three. they re-open next week, will be interesting to see what they try to get away with. right now i just pay 2.25 for guest ales, or if i want a lager, 2.45/becks vier

To be honest, I think when I get to uni I'm gonna get back on the Guinness. It was the first thing I started drinking when I started going to pubs regularly, but after I turned 18 I just stuck with lager for some reason.

Hopefully your local won't have raised their prices too much by the time they re-open, Jon. I've had to abandon going to mine and start trying out different places because of the prices. It's a double-edged sword, because most student-orientated places are cheap, but frankly I prefer a slightly quieter environment.

£2.50 for a pint of Grolsch or Budweiser at my local.
John Smiths is about £2.30 and Guiness is either that or £2.60

Yeah, wetherspoons is well priced, but usually packed, which is a bit lame for me as I prefer a slightly quieter pub. I'm such an old man. :/

Theres no shortage of pubs where I live but all of them seem to play overly loud, shitty music to the level where you have to shout what you want to drink. My local seems to be the only less loud one in the area. I'll be fucked if it ever goes under.

Another two new lagers tonight. Just tried Skol, which wasn't that bad considering it's low %. LCL Pils is up next. I'll post my verdict.

I know that feeling. One of the pubs I used to go to regularly started having live bands coming in to play, which pissed me off. Not only were they crap, but they played far too loud and seemed to think that they were total rock stars just for playing in a pub.

I don't like having to raise my voice so that I can talk to my friends over a pint.

Heh, the opposite story when I tried Coors light. I'd never tried it before, but on the advert it literally looked like someone had urinated into a pint glass. Anyway, a friend gave me a can of the stuff at a house part recently, and it did indeed taste rubbish, despite being 5% vol.

This LCL Pils just taste's like standard lager. The kind of taste I've come to expect from Carling and Fosters.
Other lagers (Grolsch, Kronenbourg, Stella) seem to add there own little something to the taste of a lager. Whereas this LCL just tastes like the stupid Carling/Fosters formulae.

Yeah, Carling and Fosters are what people drink when they're like 15 and just want to drink any lager that they can get their hands on for a few quid. It's pretty standard, really nothing special. I'll drink it every now and again if I have little or no money in my pocket.

Right now I really fancy a few bottles of Corona with a BBQ.

Ah, can't wait for Uni me :) Seem's almost to be good. I've already started saving money up to pay for nights out of excessive drinking. Will have a grand by September 1st. Uni you going to?

Brunel, in West London. It's pretty much perfect for me, as it's not right in the center of London (Oxford Circus FTW), but it's very easy to get to the center of London for a night out, if that's where you want to go out drinking.

PLUS I have an en suite room, so I don't have to wait for someone to vacate a shared bathroom if I need to vomit after having far too much to drink... even though I haven't done that in a long time. I imagine fresher's week will be filled with vomiting, though. ;P

Oh, and this has taken my mind of my solitary state!

Aladdin, heh. Memories of childhood.
