I don't know how you can consistently make long posts about practically nothing, Travis, but you did it again. I mean... can't you post when something interesting happens when you're drunk, instead of every time you drink a few beers? Or at the very least, narrow it down? Quality over quantity, man.

Don't take this the wrong way or anything, it's not like I run this club and it's not like I write grade-A quality stuff every time I post something here. I just don't want to have to skip over everything you post here due to it being so drawn out and trivial.

In any case, another weekend with no booze. Good thing is that I believe I'm going to a club next Friday, and we've got a DD, but unfortunately it's the lamest club I've ever been to. Just old people and fat asians everywhere. But the bartenders are good, and the venue is pretty spacious, so there's that.

Also - try the Brass Monkey if you haven't already. Just mix 211 with orange juice. That shit is amazing, just don't add bacardi to it cause that's what I did and it tasted like a King's Cup after that.

Jack Daniel's Honey is whiskey meant for non-whiskey drinkers.

It's pretty good all the same.

I drink whatever whiskey is there. I wouldn't get the stuff for myself, considering the price, but I got it for my friend's birthday. He always wants to drink Jack when he has liquor because he insists that it's classy to always get the same thing. I think he's being pretentious, but whatever.

I'm trying to figure out what you would mix it with. The only thing I imagine you could make with it is a hot totty, or mix it with mezcal and make a margarita.

Also back after a long hiatus. Going to be applying for bartending positions in Calgary sometime next week. I have a couple years experience so I don't think it will be difficult. I'm more or less worried about the tips, shifts, and being a little rusty from a years worth of other work.

In other news, who wants to take a trip back in time to their childhood with PB&J vodka? I won't be buying a bottle but it interests me strangely.

Not me, man. Flavored vodka has to be the most disgustingly sugary tasting garbage I've ever had the misfortune of tasting.

I'm guessing it might be okay given the right mixers and stuff, but still.

It seems in poor taste, but it's only there to achieve a certain desired affect.

You could always buy a small decanter and pour it in. That might look a little less cheap :P

Yeah all flavored vodka's are rediculously sweet. I dont necessarily hate them, id never have more than one drink though. The Marshmellow vodka makes an interesting twist to the white russian.

As much as i detest JD some people swear by it, i think part of that is because its almost always available at a bar and relatively inexpensive. So if you've grown accustomed to its taste, you can walk into any bar and know youll have ol' reliable there.

I don't mind JD, it has a decent burn that I like about corn whiskey. The burnt taste and the caramel flavors are what I enjoy in corn whiskey. Jim Beam I detest with all my drunken soul, it has neither burnt taste nor caramel flavor and it honestly reminds me of puke. It may be possible that I did puke it up once.

My dad got me a bottle of Jefferson Reserve very small batch which I've had once before, great stuff.

I tried this brand of Vodka called UV last night. It was supposed to be raspberry flavor and the color was bright blue. wasn't bad. I mixed it with juice.

I was thinking it might taste good with apple cider. I usually heat up apple cider and add honey, cinnamon, and a tiny bit of lemon juice, and I've mixed apple cider with whiskey before and enjoyed it. So, it seems like a good bet.

huh...I'd try it.

I might try that some time, that does sound pretty good. Apple cider makes for such a great mixer because you can make your drinks super strong and they still taste delicious.

Anyway, I had several beers earlier while watching the fights and I'm planning on finishing the night off with some peach brandy.

I was talking about the non-alcoholic stuff you get in gallons, but that probably wouldn't be bad, either.

I've had peach brandy before. It was delicious. I got kinda sick of the brand I had after a while, though, because I had an awful lot at once.

While i was in NY over the weekend, i had a chance to taste a spicy cucumber margarita. It was actually quite good. I'm not one for spicy drinks but the refreshing nature of the cucumber worked well with the spicyness of the tequila they infused with hot peppers. I am finding that cucumber works well with alot of spirits i normally am not a fan of, such as gin and tequila.

Heres some drink porn.

Over the weekend i was in new york for a sampling of English gin cocktails, i feel like the Pimms cup is making a comeback. Its so pleasant on a warm sunny day, and its a gorgeous looking drink also.

I also had the chance to try out a Gibson, which i didnt really care for. I'll probably stay away from drinks that use pickled onions as a garnish.

heres a foto with some fish and chips.

The only difference between a Gibson and a martini is the garnish. Sort of like a Greyhound and a Salty Dog, vodka and grapefruit, add salt to the rim and you have a salty dog.

Not a big fan of white vermouth so I stay away from martinis.

I can't find coconut cream for the life of me.

My plan is to mix some pineapple and coconut cream and freeze the mixture. Then I can pop it out anytime and make frozen pina coladas any time without significantly watering down the concoction.

Also, I tried making margaritas with the Magic Bullet, terrible results. Not only does it make a horrendous and loud sound, it didn't even chop up all the ice. Nothing good about having a ice half an inch thick sitting in your margarita. I haven't had much luck with the household blender either.

Personally I'd love one of these babies and a big patio overlooking the ocean in Florida, but I'll settle for the Margaritaville blender.

MAN UP and get some OJ. Actually if you mix Grey Goose with G2 Orange Gatorade it's a pretty good mix.

In other news, went out with a couple buddies last night and one of them ordered Gin, Sprite, Tonic, with a splash of Blue Curacao and it glowed pretty cool in the black light. Might be a good trick if I end up working at a nightclub that has a black light, just throw in a bit of tonic to make it glow.

Had me some Absolut ORIENT APPLE last night that was pretty good with cranberry and water. Tasted like apple cider.
