I know... He does live in London though, so things are a bit more expensive there. If it was me, though, I wouldn't have paid it. I was at some club once who tried to charge me £8.50 for a drink of sorts (can't remember what it was - too drunk at the time), and I told them to fuck off with their extortionate prices. I probably slurred the word 'extortionate', but I felt I told them pretty good ;P

Exactly, don't worry about the next morning until you're there ;P
Let's make that our rule #1?

I think that's a good plan, and probably the premise on which all true drinkers enjoy their drunken evenings.

Who then become your best friends, and who you won't know anymore the morning after...

LOL. Love it when that happens. One time, I got this gorgeous girl's phone number - she looked about early twenties or so. She said her name was 'Crystal', though, which amused me, because I kept thinking she was a porn star or something with a name like that. Still, she invited me to go to another club with her and her friend, but unfortunately I was out for a friend's birthday, and no matter how much I've had to drink, I won't forsake my friends just to get a quick shag.

ARE YOU SAYING I COME ACROSS AS A FILTHY DRUNKARD?!?!
Hell yeah, we're in this awesome club together, so we're fucked.

Fucked? Or EMPOWERED? ...Probably fucked.

the best hang over cure is gatorade the night before, a liter bottle before bed should have you waking up peachy, then drink more through out the day

i gotta buy a 24 of Heineken this weekend, its 24$ plus deposit

A quality hangover cure is a pint of water before you go to bed, and then bananas in the mroing. Apparently, the potassium in the bananas helps cure your hangover quicker.

the bannasa will have a similar effect as the gatorade, but sometimes when you are really hung over you just dont wanna eat anything

gatorade will suit you better then water because it not only rehydrates you but also improves your salts

Hahaha, £8.50? Fuck those guys! Talking of that, this Thursday I was in the pub and I thought: 'Oh lol, it's been months since I last drank a cocktail! Let's have one for who knows, it might actually taste good!' And yes, it tasted good. It also cost me EU5. I remember saying I never drink cocktails, probably here and in other places. From now on this will be true again, until maybe in another few months when I'll be drunk enough to actually wonder what a Vodka Redbull tastes like.
Also nice one on the extortionism (oh wait that's not a word). I've never complained about prices to the barkeepers themselves though, what I usually do is sigh really loudly and search for money during like, a minute, just to work on their nerves.

Cheers to that =D

I always say 'Friends > girls', but I don't know if you did the right thing that one time =P I'm sure he would've understood, right? Anyway if you've still got her number, just make up an excuse to call her and ask her out, it's what I always do when I find numbers of people (girls) I don't know in my phone.

Ah, I know the issue, though I'm pretty fucking glad I won't be seeing most people of my year anymore. I was in Latin-Maths section, so as you can guess most of the people in my class were fucking sociopaths and shit like that. They'd never come out for a drink, so I had to find friends elsewhere (even though I have plenty of drinking comrades here where I live =]). I keep contact with the 'coolest' people from there though, and I just went to see Slayer with two of them yesterday. It was awesome and drunk afterwards.

Nice ;P

What did you have? I quite fancy a vodka martini ATM - haven't had one in AGES. I absolutely love them, but I can't find decent quality Vermouth anywhere right now, which is lame.

Also nice one on the extortionism (oh wait that's not a word). I've never complained about prices to the barkeepers themselves though, what I usually do is sigh really loudly and search for money during like, a minute, just to work on their nerves.

Heh. I didn't really complain, just refused to pay. I mean, for £8.50 you could almost buy a cheap bottle of vodka or something, so paying that for a single drink is ridiculous.

I always say 'Friends > girls', but I don't know if you did the right thing that one time =P

Haha, maybe not. I did really want to go with her, but frankly, it was his birthday, and his last night before he went up to university, so I would have felt crap just leaving, especially as it was a smaller gathering of just people he actually really wanted to be there..

I'm sure he would've understood, right?

He probably would have done, but to be fair, I've had friends turn their backs on me for girls (in worse circumstances, mind you), and it's pretty lame. I know a lot of guys who just think with their dicks all the time, and I don't want to be THAT guy. :/

Anyway if you've still got her number, just make up an excuse to call her and ask her out, it's what I always do when I find numbers of people (girls) I don't know in my phone.

Heh, well this was a while ago, and her number was on my old sim card, which has now been wiped and signed to a new contract. Still, even if I did still have the number, I think it was more or a one night "in the moment" type thing.

Fucked it is, but this club WILL lead us to world domination for some obscure reason.

That's why I only go to clubs when they're free =P Most clubs here don't charge though, or they have a weekday where it's always free.

Nice ;P

I had a vodka Redbull. And I honestly can't say if I like vodka martini, because I can't remember if I ever had one. I like vodka though. And martini. So I must assume it's good =D

Heh. I didn't really complain, just refused to pay. I mean, for £8.50 you could almost buy a cheap bottle of vodka or something, so paying that for a single drink is ridiculous.

True, here in Belgium £8.50 actually gets you decent liquor :o That makes that you could either buy a bottle and get drunk with that,or buy their shitty drink and not feel anything, for the same prize. I'd know what to choose;

Haha, maybe not. I did really want to go with her, but frankly, it was his birthday, and his last night before he went up to university, so I would have felt crap just leaving, especially as it was a smaller gathering of just people he actually really wanted to be there..

That's true. After further consideration, maybe you DID the right thing. There's nothing more annoying than a friend not listening to you because he has a stupid crush on someone. More than one arm has been raped by my fist because of that.

I think it was more or a one night "in the moment" type thing.

Yeahhh, that was quite obvious in fact =P

I'd say it failed me the nights when I threw up. Like that one time, we were having a party somewhere on New Year's Eve, and we planned to go to a bigger party somewhere else afterwards. I drank so much during the pre-party that I had to leave when the others went to the other place, and next morning I kept hearing how great it was that.

Yeah I had a similar experience the Friday before last (I told you about it) I just drank beer way too fast (curse filling it into a pet bottle because it's easier to drink than out of cans). So anyway I ended up throwing up, after telling my friends I was going to the loo (to throw up). And then instead of going back to where they were I just staggered home and arrived home at 10:30pm. I can't remember any of the journey home, apart from staggering through the door after having struggled to get the key inside the door, where I then drunkenly denied being drunk to my mum only to admit it the next day. lol the funniest thing was she thought me drinking was a first hahahaha.
My poor friends thought I'd fell in the lake or something. Which I might have done quite easily while I was washing my face in it after puking. That was probably my worst experience so far, wasn't enough to stop me drinking twice the next week.

And more will follow. You did the right thing by going out drinking next week, because that (IMO) is a good thing for your alcohol tolerance. You're not necessarily drunk less, but you can drink more before feeling sick. Which is something you need, obviously.

I can't believe I haven't seen this place before. Considering I just turned 21, and have had some prior drinking experience in college, I too would like to join. I assume this is a place to share stories involving alcohol and the consequences that result from our actions with it. Am I right or am I wrong?

Anyways, like I said, my 21st was two days ago and it was a fairly busy night. I went out to dinner and had to order my first legal drink with my family watching. They acted like it was a big deal when the waitress carded me, to which I had to roll my eyes to. After dinner I went to hang out with my friends at one of their houses and we played drinking games for a few hours. I recreated my the trademark among my friends of downing 4 shots of whiskey in under 20 seconds because it was a special occasion and needless to say by midnight I was pretty gone. I passed out on his couch and woke up to a lovely headache, but I was expecting that anyways.

Overall, it was a really great night, but I don't think I'll be drinking like that again. Now that I can get alcohol whenever I want, the thrill of underage drinking will probably do away with my party drinking days.

LOL, every crazy night inevitably ends with passing out on a couch and waking up feeling slightly more than worse for wear, but it's all good.

Overall, it was a really great night, but I don't think I'll be drinking like that again.

No, I don't think I've ever had a night as crazy as my 18th (which as you probably know is the legal age in the UK). Although, saying that, I start university in September, so I might end up getting pretty trashed during fresher's week.

Now that I can get alcohol whenever I want, the thrill of underage drinking will probably do away with my party drinking days.

I know what you mean. It's so much more exciting drinking when you're underage. Unfortunately for British kids these days, most places in the UK are tightening up on enforcing the age restrictions, thus ID is asked for much more frequently. SUCKS TO BE THEM.

Rushed to get to the second-to-last train home, missed that, found out the last train was cancelled.

Had to pay £20 for a taxi home.

I don't know guys... I've been drinking legally since I was 16, and drinking has never been that 'exciting', not even before; just awesome to do.

You need to go everywhere by bike. That's what I do. Last Friday I went to a festival that was more that 25km away from where I live, and I don't regret it. You can ago home whenever you want, no restrictions, and it doesn't matter how long the road is because you're always drunk and everything goes much faster like that.

Yeah I agree I've never thought drinking was exciting (like some other illegal stuff is) even though I am Underage. Maybe it depends what type of person you are or if you're use to doing stuff that's against the law. I used to get excited about doing stuff like stealing Mercedes-Symbols, but now I don't, might be a matter of getting used to it.

The weekend is nearly upon us and I can't wait. The usual Friday night in (work in the morning), which means I'll have half a bottle of Southern Comfort and be just about fine in the morning. Saturday afternoons when the fun really begins. Couple of mates back to mine, currently got nine cans and half a bottle of vodka. Then hit the pub for mass drinking of pintage.

Got a bottle of Micky Fins from Tesco today as well. 15% and it looks so downable. Saturday will be fucking great :) That and the pretty bottle and colour helped make up my mind :P

Applying for some weekend bar work in a pub, so that hopefully I'll be bar trained by the time I go to university, which will increase my employment prospects while I'm there. It'll be weird to be on the other side of the bar though :/

Yeah, the daily routine is never TOO exciting. I never found stealing car parts really exciting either, but I did enjoy stuff like provoking into a fight with a friend and gay stuff like that. Alcohol might have been exciting the few first times, at age 14 when you went to the dispenser at 10 pm to drink a can of beer...

I could never work in a bar. I worked at a few parties and stuff, but those were organized by my youth club so drunkenness was allowed for us. Otherwise, it would've been impossible, I think. Serving alcohol to people all night without touching it... :O
