E3 Media & Business Summit is approaching us and gamers around the world await and anticipate their favorite game and game console announcements.

E3 2008 will be held in Santa Monica California on July 11-13. You may watch E3 live either via G4 through your T.V. or stream it online through your computers.

This thread is to discuss predictions, announcements, rumors and aftermath of E3.

I expect Pikmin 3, Animal Crossing Wii, and Kid Icarus Wii will be announced. Pikmin 3 is the only one we don't know for sure is being worked on, but it's got to be coming. Maybe we'll see a Zelda teaser, but I wouldn't expect an actual Zelda game to come out before holiday 2009.

Microsoft will likely reveal their new avatar system and a couple more games, probably at least one that integrates the avatars. They might also show off the supposed Newton motion controller. It would make sense to show it now, since they're revealing the avatar system. I suspect they'll have something like Wii sports to announce with it that has avatar integration. Basically, it's Nintendo's 2006 conference.

I don't know about Sony. Maybe they'll put a date on the Home beta. Maybe they'll announce a video download service. I would probably expect a God of War 3 teaser. No gameplay, but just something showing Kratos and telling us it's coming. There's also some supposed 'secret project' that Sony is working on. It's been reference by a bunch of people for awhile now. Maybe we'll finally find out what it is. I really hope they have Heavy Rain on display. I'm very interested to find out what that games going to be all about.

I expect the Kid Icarus to be the gam Nintendo was talking about from their old franchises.

As for Microsoft I expect them to announce a lot of casual stuff, confirm some release dates for this year (Halo Wars, Splinter Cell). Microsoft also said that they have at least 2 exclusive games not announced yet for this year. I predict Killer Instinct 3 and perhaps Knights of the Old Republic 3?

Sony I know has a lot of cool games they mentioned like once and then we never heard of again. I think we'll hear a lot about them and their 2009 line up will have some interesting games. Perhaps White Knights, inFAMOUS. A date on Home. I will put money down that between July 1-4 firmware 4.0 will come out with XMB, Trophies, etc. Or at least a little before E3

Well, it's been unofficially confirmed numerous times that Factor 5 is developing it, and since they haven't released anything since Lair, I would suspect it's about time to show something about it.

Most probably. I think Nintendo will have a couple of game announcements. Maybe a Kirby game as well. They supposedly have a couple of games slated for Holiday 2008 that will make core gamers happy. We'll just have to wait and see. I would also expect them to say they will unlock SD card, or at least have some sort of storage solution.

FW 2.40, but yes, July 1-4 is a good estimate. That's the date the supposed Sony employee said was when it was going to be released. They'll devote some of their press conference to talking about trophies and in-game XMB I'm sure, saying how they always listen to their fans and that kind of bullcrap. They did the same thing when they released the Dualshock3. Home will be a big deal. They'll probably show off a lot of its functionality. White Knight Chronicles should make an appearance. InFamous probably will as well. There's a possibility for an Uncharted 2 (or maybe a Jak game) announcement. I'm sure Final Fantasy will get some time too.I would say Dark Cloud 3 would get announced, but probably not since it's the same developers as White Knight. Maybe next E3.

I read somewhere that Sony had "Dress" or something like that which worked in part with Home. It had real fashion things like Hollister, American Eagle, etc. that you could put on your person or something like that. I know that will bring in a lot of girl gamers.

Microsoft has those rumored avatars, the karaoke game, "Lips". And if it is true, the motion sensor controller "Newton". Also there was rumor about the new Tony Hawk having a peripheral skateboard or something like that for the 360/PS3.

I'm really hoping for a lot of Wii games to be announced. Right now there isn't much for us to look forward to, all we have right now is Madworld and Guitar Hero World Tour to look forward to.

I'm hoping for another Pikmin game, I've heard that Nintendo was interested in making a sequel, so the odds of it being annouced seem good.

I heard about "breakable" PS3 controller and the motion sensor for the 360. I hope some good new games are gonna be announced. Especially for the 360 as GoW2 is the only thing holding its head above the shit coming from the Wiis war machine. PS3 is moving in the "hardcore" gaming direction so im expecting some good games coming from them. Not much we can anticipate or expect. They always come up with something incredible. Assassins Creed 2?

I see Microsoft is really trying to get the casual market into the 360.

How about Microsoft bumps up it's advertising campaign? We already saw how much attention Gears of War got from it's "Mad World" trailer.

I wonder if that's only going to be for the basic Pro bundle or every model. An across the board cut of either $50 or $100 would put the Arcade bundle at a significantly cheaper price than the Wii (if Nintendo chooses to maintain the $249 price tag. I doubt even that would stop the Wii's juggernaut sales, but it would be interesting to see none-the-less.

Naughty Dog dosn't own the rights to Crash anymore, so even if there is a new Crash game, it will probably suck. The last Crash game made by Naughty Dog was Crash Team Racing, every game after that sucked.

The 360 is already cheaper than the Wii in the U.K. I don't think it is really price making people not boy the other consoles it is the casual anybody can play theme the Wii has.

What is rumored to happen is that they're going to drop the 20 gig and replace it with a 50 gig. Then they're going to give a price drop across the board. What we're not to sure about is if the arcade is going to have the 20 or stay the arcade.

Of course this has yet to all be confirmed.

So far they havn't said anything, there have been rumors about Animal Crossing Wii and Pikmin 3 though. Hopefully they'll be announced, as well as some more games that we can look forward to.
