Sexual discrimination

I am finding sexual discrimination and double standards on the rise and not against women, but against men. A complete reversal over the past century has left men as the modern image of "the punching bag". Have you ever seen the commercial where the father is teaching his son to play sports and the commentary at the end states, "Have you been teaching your son what not to hit? All violence against women is wrong."

Ok, first and foremost, all violence against ANYONE is wrong. Not just women. This is my first piece of evidence that sexual discrimination is on the rise. They lead people to believe that violence against women is a terrible thing, but where does that leave men? Is the commercial saying that violence against men is alright?

Ok, please don't get mad at me for this but I'm going to tie abortion into this next piece.
Abortion is the act of destroying an unborn fetus to rid the mother of the responsibilities of parenthood or to prevent some sort of medical complication. When a women doesn't want to be a mother she is then labeled as "pro-choice", but what if a man doesn't want to be a father? If a man refuses to be a father he is then labeled as a poor, degenerate leech on society with no decent qualities as a human being. This seems a bit sexist don't you think? Doesn't a man have as much right to parenthood as a women?

And now the media. The third piece is violence against men in television shows, movies, songs and the such. I constantly see men being abused physically and emotionally in television shows and movies by women. Men being slapped, punched, pushed, yelled at, even kicked out of their own houses. This is unacceptable. If a man ever did those things to a women he would probably find himself attending a sensitivity training course, stuck with a restraining order or even facing prison time.

I find that the sexual standards of society are out of order and need to be corrected. Man is being dragged through the mud of society weather or not you can see it.

Why is it okay to show a woman's breast, but not a man's penis in movies? Only very few movies show the penis, and they're mostly British such as 28 Days Later.

Oh, I LOVE that NG will ban sigs or pics that potray two guys kissing, but not two women.

Well, that's kind of a different case. It's not okay to show a womans genitalia, so it's a non-issue. It's still more accepted to show a man's breast than a woman's.

i 100% agree!! most women are sexist, my mom, sister and most of my female friends are. and the funny thing is they call me sexist when infact im being perpsly fair between both the men and the women. for example i had a ball and a guy and my sister both wanted it, so i threw it to the guy cuz i gave it to my sister last time and she called me sexist. men are betrayed as punching bags in the media and thats how were treated in real life. anybody else see what were saying?

Also courts are incredily sexist agianst men, most of the time mothers get custody of children EVEN IF THE MAN IS MORE QUALIFED TO TAKE CARE OF THE CHILD.

And then theres the whole thing where its always the man who,s wrong, if you get in a fight with a woman even if she started it you can be sure your ass is going to jail.

They did it with black people and they are doing it with women, it's a little word called: "compensation".

Like black people, but not in the same extreme, women were treated like shit, they never had the same rights as men, and the double standard benefited men more than women. now all races and all genders have equal rights(except that women can't serve on the front line during war), and just to make up for all those hundreds of years of discrimination, us men are gonna take our turn as the moral and legal punching bag of society! Is it fair? I don't think so, no. Does it happen? Yes.

I really dont think woman were treated as badly as you think,

sure they didnt have the same rights but that dosent mean they had bad lives.On the contrary I think being a woman would make you have a better life.

look at world war 1 and 2 men had to fight and die for their countrys, they lived in trenches eating rats and getting trench foot(like atheletes foor except 100 times worse, alot of time their foot had to be amputated)while the woman stayed home and worked at factorys.

Alot of the time woman probaly cheated on their husbands when they were at war also , kinda pathetic someone goes to die for you and their country and they reward you by cheating on you lol.

They call us pigs... they also think of us as rapists or seducers. But women aren't usually stated as rapists or seducers, in all Hollywood movies if there is a rapist involved. ITS A GUY! Or a sex slave owner of some sort... guy. I think that we are judged on our hormones... sexualy most. Well technically a woman can stimulate herself to orgasm just like men can (well, not exactly like, but you get me point).

I think it's unfair to promote anyone's race, sex, religion, or nationality over anyone else's regardless of the reason.

It's terrible, but it's unchangeable. We being punished for the unfairness of people who lived around one hundred years ago. We would like to change it, but it is impossible. I have been thinking about this for years and I am glad that somebody agrees with me! The media in getting worse and worse, until it is unsalvageable. Take Max Finder. He is a comic book dective for kids. He has a sidekick who is a girl, and solves the case 3/4 of the time! This is an example about how one comic ends.

Max: We've tried everything, but I still can't find out who it was.

Allison: You're buying me lunch, genius, because I know who the culprit is.

In the remaining 1/4 of the time, Max never insults his sidekick like that when he solves it!
Also, in many television shows, the male character is the dumb and impulsive one, and the female character is the sensible one. It happens all the time! There are many more examples, but I don't have room to write them all! Eventually it will be worse than it was 100 years ago. Men will be seen as the scum of society, and women will rule everything. I am glad I am born now and not then, because I will feel sorry for that generation.

It's sad that laws in our society favor women. I think having a father in a child's life is much more important than a mother. But even so, if a women can have an abortion than a man should have an equal right to not be forced to pay 'child support'.

I heard that according to statistics, female on male rape is more common then male on female. Its just that the news doesn't show female on male as often though.

The girl didn't mind, she knows how i think and all) and the mom wanted her sis to accompany us to wherever we wanted to go. I later found out it was bc she was afraid i was gonna rape her, and i was extremely insulted because she never met me in person

Another thing is divorce. For some reason the woman always seems to get everything. Almost 100% of the time the woman gets the house, cars, the majority of custody if not full of children and even dogs. I know a guy who raised his saint bernard Ajax from when he was a puppy before he even met his wife. He had Ajax for 8 years, the wife only knew him for 3 and still got the dog. She didn't even like that dog! And if a man asks for a prenup it's considered sexist and a betrayal. WTF!!!

That's a pretty nice observation, and one that I haven't heard yet. And it does seem to be the case, that there's a lot of sexism in the areas of abortion and parenthood. If a woman doesn't want to be a mother, she's pro-choice, and is acting with her future in mind. If a man doesn't want to be a father, he's a deadbeat dad, the scum of the earth, and a horrible person.

Of course, while I observe that argument and acknowledge its validity, look at the other side of it. There are many more fathers that abandon their children than there are mothers that do so, and when it comes to having an abortion, it's the woman's choice. Her body, her choice. Sexism against men, just like all other forms of prejudice in the world, is somewhat founded in truth.

I am of the opinion that the world isn't quite ready to stop with our older, sexist habits. While it'd be a welcome change, there's no way that people are going to get out of the habit of holding the door open for women, or restraining from hitting someone because they're a woman, or expecting the closest man to do all the heavy lifting, or ridiculing a man for feeling sensitive. People are used to it.

I honestly wouldn't even worry about it. Like everything else out there, it'll work itself out.

You can't honestly feel offended that her mother was afraid that she would get raped.

Put yourself in her shoes: You have a teenage daughter in a world where every other news story is about a woman being murdered, the amount of rapes committed in the city, about teenage girls being abducted, and all you ever see or hear is that some guy from her school was the one to end so-and-so's life. One day, your beautiful daughter, someone that you're still having trouble recognizing as a sexual being, comes home to tell you about her new boyfriend.

Obviously you're going to be concerned. You let her go out with him and don't raise too much of a fuss, because you don't want to seem paranoid. But then you get to thinking: would you rather seem cool? Or would you rather your daughter be safe? Most parents that deserve to raise children would choose option number two, and would do what this girls mother did and try to find out about you.

If there's inappropriate stuff on your facebook page, whether it's drinking, smoking, or just run-of-the-mill partying like no tomorrow, a big old red flag would shoot up in the minds of any decent parent. Once that happens, you can only think it to be your responsibility as a parent to make sure that this beautiful, young girl, doesn't turn into the next hot story at 10 PM.

I'm not a parent. I don't plan on being one for at least a decade. But if people would just think outside of their own self-interest every now and then, the world would be a much happier place. Two sides to every story, my friend.

The only time that men are truly victims is when they've already fucked themselves over and find themselves on the wrong end of jailrape.

Perhaps you should spend more time with her mom, so she has a chance to get to know you for who you are, and not for who your Facebook applications say you are.
