Do I need a script to go to a layer to play at the first frame:
I have a layer called Cursor1. Now if I have a button that lets the user change cursors it goes to another layer of the first frame of the Movie/game of a new layer with a completely different cursor, is this possible, or am I retarded?

Confusing post...are you saying you have you're other cursor on a different layer? because no layers don't matter with script. Just put your 2nd cursor on the 2nd frame inside the first cursor

Sort of. I am saying if I click a button it changes your cursor. I was wondering if this could happen.
If I put the second cursor on the second frame inside the cursor do I need the stop(); command?

yeah, that'll work. If you have a movie clip for your cursor with a new cursor look on each frame you can click on the button then in the button you would do something along the lines of

cursor.gotoAndStop(2)

cursor being the movie clip you used for the cursor. gotoAndStop sets the clip's current frame to the number in the parenthesis and then stops. Of course, I'm an AS3 guy so this may or may not work for you AS2 people.

No, it works all right. I think the main difference between the two languages is the ability (or loss of) to put code on movie clips and buttons etc.
