There are billions of galaxies each with billions of stars in them. There has to be life somewhere out there in the Universe, I don't know about intelligent life but at least something. I doubt we will find any real evidence of life outside Earth before 2012 though.

The universe isn't infinite though. So eventually you run out of possibilities. Nobody knows for sure, but I mean look at how delicate the balance needed for life is. It's a very slim chance that a planet could almost mimic everything that Earth has.
