Man, I'm pretty pissed at my dad

No, this is not what you think. It's not one of those topics saying "OMFG MY D@D W0NT LET ME WATCH TV NAYMOAR". No. I hate those kids as much as the next guy, but please just let me elaborate.

First off, I'll just say that my dad works at night. He often has to do shifts starting at midnight and comes home at 10:00 in the morning. Something always goes wrong at his job, and he takes it out on me. Yelling at me for no real reason. But I don't get mad at him for that. He's tired, and I can understand. I mean, he has to work to earn money so I can eat and have clothes on my back. But that's not why I'm pissed at him right now. No, that's normal. The thing is, when I woke up this morning, my PSP was missing. I asked my dad if he had seen it around, and he said he had auctioned the thing up on eBay, and shipped it off early in the morning today. That wouldn't have been so bad, if he had paid for it. I bought the thing with my own money, and he sold it along with all the games I had bought with it. So now I'm fighting with him about him paying me back, but he's just sticking to the same thing. "We need money more than you need to play games". Well, I can understand that, but too bad it's my fucking money! Man, this kinda stuff pisses me off. Any advice on how I can get my cash back? It took a long time to save up for that PSP, and I'd at least like the cash back.

I don;t really know what I can say in terms of advice but I can say that it definitely sucks that your dad would something like that, seriously you got no reason to be friendly with him until he gets you your shit back.

If you don't have/isn't living with you, your Mom that is, then well, reason with him and talk things over. Yea I know thats the hard thing to do, so this is what you gotta do.

Next time you have something of value, do not tell him and hide it away from him and move out of the house as soon as possible. Wow that was just some horrible advice I gave, but thats all I could say.

There is nothing you can do about it. The only legal recourse you have to protect your stuff from your father is move the fuck out. It's his house and his rules. You don't like it? Leave, Period.

I moved out of my parents house at 18 after a fist fight with my father. After about a year after leaving we began to reconcile and we have never gotten along better than we do now.

Vent your current frustrations in a responsible manner than suck it the fuck up.

No you cant and this is the gayest most childish reply Ive ever seen. I used to say I would solve problems by suing people when I was fucking five but when I realized it was lame to say shit like that and threaten legal action at the age of six, I stopped. Since theyre family, it wouldnt even make it to court and would be settled out of court probably by a lawyer just suggesting that the dad makes sure the kid gets all the money the PSP and games sold for and probably like a verbal apology or something equally trite and banal.

Just take the television and sell that, or something he uses and enjoys to relax with, and sell that; it will just worsen the situation and your dad will have nothing to do to relax so will be pissed off more often but when he yells at you about it you can yell back "You need to work more than you need to play games!" or something. It's really a terrible thing to do and will just worsen the situation but you can show him just how childish he's being by taking his kids shit and pawning it. Also drink all his booze.
