Look here, the fact of the matter is, America was pretty powerful, and to an extent, we still are. This puts us on the international map, whether we want to be or not. In turn, our shit leaders try to make us look good, but they can't, since they suck. Anyone not in America is too naive to realize that are politics have all gone to shit, what you see is the complete opposite of what you get, so we "vote" for something, and get something else. The reason we have the highest rate of everything is for two reasons. One: We have a large population, so looking at non-percentage stats, of course we have higher rates. Two: There are people around the world, and in out own country waiting for something bad to happen to criticize us for it. Which leads to my last point, of agreeing with the fact that anyone from a country not directly affected by the US, should shut the hell up, all you're doing is being an arrogant faggot yourself.

OMG as a Puertorican I have to say you're retarded and out of the around 50 Americans I've met you are probably one of the dumbest 10. Yes, the US has lots of influence in the world, but obviously it does, it's ruled by many big corporations that only care for money and they all can contribute to affecting the climate, causing wars, and many more crisis in the world because the US is a country that gives way to many benefits to the rich and nothing to the average American. You don't have free medicine or treatment, if a mother becomes pregnant she only gets 12 weeks off without salary! Most countries give around 40 weeks of with salary! Your country cannot handle the energy crisis well, the fact that in Mexico the gallons are half that price as in most Latin America is embarrasing. Your country spies on your people, arrest people without trial (and worst, arrest people from other countries without trial) and you have something called The Patriots Act that passed Congress which allows it, even though the 4 Ammendment of the Constitution prohibits it (no respect for the Founding Fathers right?). Your country allows mostly anyone to own firearms, in fact I heard a case how a 4 year old with his father got the rights to a firearm in one state (and the baby signed with a doodle, incredible right?). Your country has no flourishing local bussinesses, most bussineses are international and big corporations that give you low quality products at high prices. A good protion of the US (over 10%) live in houses of stray and trash because they have no government help, and thousands die every year of hunger. That is what you call the great America?

Now, the reason why you Americans think you won the war is because you were the only country not devastated by the war so the US emerged after the war as the most stable and economically powerful country, and the country that dominates at a time is the one who gets to write and manipulate history, especially in their own country. When the US arrived to Europe to help already the English and the Soviets were advancing toward victory, and Japan was pretty weak and could have been handled by the English and Australians alone most probably. The Atomic bomb was not necessary, Japan had already surrendered and lost the war, everyone outside the US knows the droppings of the bombs was unnecessary and just for the US to test it's new weaponry and show the other countries their edge in weaponry advancements.

US now makes wars driven my big corporations and rich people, many of them from other countries (like the Saudis, they drove the Americans on this war). The US also likes to control other countries and limit their freedom for taking their resources easily, they've done it throughout history in many Latin American countries (does that appear on your textbook?).

Also can't forget how fat most Americans are, they seriously need to stop going to fast-foods and eat at home or at least some decent food. I seriously think I saw that over 70% of Americans weight around 200 pounds, not even in Germany I saw such an exageration of obesity).

PS: I've visited the US, England, France, Spain, and Germany and I gotta say that the US is the least country I liked, it was like here in Puerto Rico without the good music, the beaches, and the friendly people (seriously, you go to the US and everyone has a very serious look and noone talks to people outside of their family, it's like they live a boring insecure life, especially in Philadelphia, those people looked sadder and grumpier than emos here in Puerto Rico XD).

There are exceptions on a FEW US states, most are just 12 weeks WITHOUT pay. Only industrialized developed countries that the maternity leave is so harsh is in the US and Australia.
