I've found that looks tend to go hand in hand with confidence. 3 years ago, for example, my ex was convinced that she was ugly and as a result she didn't really see the point in taking pride in her looks and trying to make herself look good because in her eyes it would just be a waste of time anyway. At that stage she would have probably been a 3 out of 10 not that I ever said that though.

3 years on she's a lot more confident now and a hell of a lot more attractive and thats mostly just due to the fact that she puts more effort into her appearance. The only downside is that it takes her 2 hours to get ready in the morning but it's definatley worth the wait. She's probabally about a 9 out of 10 now.
