It doesn't matter how many terrible games are on a console -- only the number of good games matters. There is no relevant ratio between good and bad games, either. It's not a game of chance; you don't go pluck something off the shelf with a blindfold and hope it's not shit. You get to personally select any title you purchase, and for that reason the number of bad games is irrelevant.

A better argument would be "the Wii does not have enough good titles" rather than "the Wii has terrible games." I'm sure the PS2 has landfills of absolutely terrible games, but it doesn't matter, because it has a large collection of quality games.

Yeah, I think it's pretty hard to say that the Wii dosn't have any good games. As for the other consoles, they have a lot of good games too. To be honest, all of the current consoles are good.

It is for about the first two boss battles, But then you see what the the game truly is.
A giant grind-fest, with some cut scenes thrown in made by some animator that watches too much anime.

It's not just games that are killing the Wii, it's the way Nintendo conducts business. Their online service is still so God awful that even though it's free I still can't seem to get myself to go online. When my friend bought Brawl we played the hell out of it, and I decided to buy it myself only for the purpose of playing it online. Single player doesn't interest me in a game like that, and I don't really need a copy to play with friends since my friend already has one... So, I was kicked right in the groin when I learned that online played more like it was an after thought. I can only blame myself though, because I could have gotten online at my friend's house to see how it was, but the thought really didn't cross my mind. I figured Nintendo wouldn't half ass online play for a game like Brawl, but I guess that's asking for too much.

Now they have this Wii Ware shit, trying to compete with PSN and XBLA. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad idea, but I remember reading something a little bit ago about people wondering if Nintendo plans on doing anything about the space concern on the Wii. All these downloads are going to require more storage, and from what I read it didn't seem like Nintendo had any big plans. That's just stupid business. And, if I'm not mistaken, they still haven't come out with any rechargeable controllers. The last I knew if you wanted a rechargeable battery pack you had to get the Nyko brand, because Nintendo hasn't come out with anything.

Nintendo is awesome and their games are well known for gameplay, not graphics. I must say that Xbox360 and PS3 do have better graphics, but are sometimes harder to play. I actually prefer side scrolling platformers over the 3-D ones, and only Nintendo still makes them every once in a while.

There are some Wii owners out there that want games that don't have a damn Italian plumber in each one.
The main problem with that is, a large amount of those are games are poor quality. With bad controls, design, presentation, graphics and everything just has a bad aura surrounding it.

So you get the Wii and all the "Killer Exclusive Titles", you play Wii Sports for a bit. You beat Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, No More Heroes, and unlock everything in SSBB. Now you want to try a little online in Brawl... WAIT! You need to find a 12 digit code from a friend who also own Brawl. So after some searching you finally play a few matches. That was fun right?

Now what do you do? Well you have a ton of Wii Points, why not get some oldschool games? So you do, you get about 8 with the many Wii Points you have. But you're now limited on space as your 512 MB is at about 76 along with all the save game data. Now you think "This is the age of Hard Drives, why would I need some sort of Memory Card to save extra space?" and after you beat all your Virtual Console games. You look at the WiiWare games, only to see they all suck.

This is the rise and fall of a Wii owner thinking the Wii is great to suddenly seeing it's all a hype-machine made for people who've never touched a Super Nintendo.
I mean honestly, those families on TV enjoying the Wii don't exist at all. They're a marketing sham.
So I can bash the Wii all I want thank you very much.

So instead of addmiting that your Wii/PS3/360 MIGHT have SOME flaws, you have to sit around on the internet whining about the flaws of the other systems. The problem with the Wii is the huge amount of games I could easily play free HERE on Newgrounds or play in real life. Nintendo appealing to the casual market was a colossal success, I never thought I'd see this generation turn out the way it is now. How did a video GAMES console made for 'NON GAMERS' work so well?

With PS2 being the current top selling console of all time with about 130 million consoles sold in 7 years shattering the record that was held by Nintendo Gameboy with 120 million before they were discontinued. I thought the PS3 was a dead cert for winning this generation.

But the Nintendo Wii managed, nay cakewalked through this gen with 20 or so million units sold so far leaving the other two behind. It's the casuals that make me disappointed with the Wii. Developers won't make an adventurous "hardcore" game for the fear it will sell badly.

That was No More Heroes' mistake. I adored this game because it wasn't solitaire or a minigame package (although there was minigames in NMH) it still maintained a hardcore feel. However casuals (or non-gamers) thought it wasn't for them hence the low sales. Even Suda51 blamed the lack of sales on casuals.

I just can't get how a 'waggle' controller as the default and primary controller still gets games that fully utilize it. Consoles in the past use peripherals such as light guns and motion camera for one game (or a small series).

I use my Wii for the virtual console, I know it's paying for emulation but at least the Wii mote can still be used like a typical controller for them.

The Wii in my house can't have been used more than a dozen times. My brother got it for Christmas 2006, played it for about a week, and then never touched it again. I played it twice, I think, and the controller did my head in. It really puts me off getting games for it. I've considered getting some of the newer ones for it, which weren't out at release or shortly after, but when the first question that comes into my head when choosing them is "Does it work with the Gamecube controller?", it sort of defeats the purpose.
