I'm gonna be flying to DC in a few days and am taking most of my games with me.
As most know, checked luggage is dealt with very badly, and I am not ready to put a guitar hero controller in my checked bag.
Anyone know if there is any possible way of getting it to go to carry on?

Get a mini guitar case, and say you're in a band.

No, you idiot.
I agree with the guitar case idea. But in case they open it up, you could always buy a real guitar, disassemble it, and put the parts on the guitar hero controller to disguise it as a real guitar.
If that doesn't work, say "What do you think I'm gonna do, blow up the plane with rock?"
That last part's probably a bad idea.

Don't you think people who visit the video games forum have dealt with this situation before?

I already told you my idea...
but anyways, why would they think a guitar shaped controller is a weapon?

my questions is
Do you think it would fit into Carry-on dimension regulations?
and if not, is there a way around?

For United Airlines, the carry-on limit is 9 x 14 x 22 in. If the controller is less than 1'10'', there will be absolutely no problem. Even if it exceeds that length, it can be turned diagonally to fit.
I don't know about other airlines, though.

just buy an aluminium flight case for your controller, theyre made for real guitars so they will definitely protect your controller, and you could probably fit some of your clothes in there too.
this way you can check it in as baggage

They didn't care about mine, but it did get a little damaged. and I hit an old lady in the head with it at the airport.

Those are better. Better buttons, and the Les Paul always breaks.
