Hey guys,
I am making a full length movie, that will be filmed in about a month.
You can read about it here.
But I need someone to make a soundtrack for the movie because I will be selling the DVD and I need to own all the rights to it.
I will pay you a minimum of $100 depending on how much stuff you do, it could be more.

First I need a test though.
I want the music to sound like this.
Set the player to 4:30 in, thats the sound I want.
If you can recreate that, I don't mind how similar it sounds, I would prefer that the loud popping drums be replaced with some heavy cymbals.

If I chose you to produce the movie you will receive
-At least $100
-Your name in the opening and closing credits
-A free copy of the DVD

Please email me at
ShinobiRikimaru@Bellsouth.net

Thanks!
-Seth Johnson

As generous as your offer is thats a very weak offer. Your giving a straight up amount no more no less it seems. If I were to be payed I would prefer to be payed based on how successful the movie is. There is also the fact that you want all rights to the music which means you can sell the OST without giving any of the money to the original musician correct?

I'm sure someone might take you up on the offer. I don't think I will be that someone for now and just felt I should explain why.

Good luck!

This is a low budget movie. I will not be selling the OST.

I wouldn't mind paying the composer with the success of the sales, but I just need the music before hand. I don't want to mess around with sending the composer money every week that I could make up some random amount to send.

Mrmilkcarton is right, you may have a hard time finding audio artists that will take your deal...

I'll do you one better though, I've worked on similar projects and I can tell you they can be extremely frustrating but a lot of fun.

Save your money for beer. I'd do it for a credit and 6 copies of the final printed DVDs & packaging.

Of course, you might hate the stuff I come up with but assuming that we're compatible, I'd be willing to exchange usage rights. I make some music - you make your film - you get limited royalty free rights to use my music for your movie and in return, I get the same deal from you to use footage from your movie to make music videos for the tracks used. No further commercial exploitation from wither of us without a separate agreement...

Interested?

K! I'll give it a try! Besides money is money and I really need some of the green stuff right now, so...I'll send you the tune when its done, it might take a few days...but that would depend the quality you want the track to have ^^

For sure, just as long as you agree to only use the footage for your own music videos.

Johnny I look forward to your stuff too.

Okay! It seems that what you need some really electric (electro) stuff right? Well Im really good at making that kind of stuff ; )

I have a song that I havent submitted to the portal that might be what you're looking for...now...question, am I going to be able to put the soundtrack up here? Or do I just send it to you? I would prefer to submit it if thats not a problem.

Well I want electro without it sounding like techno.
It's important in that song to skip to 4:30 because it completely changes.
It almost sounds like guitar distortion. I just really want a gritty dark sound.

And yeah, go ahead and submit everything. It is your music, I just want to be able to use it.

OH! Okay got it! Just saw your first zombie movie at ur account, its really good, k I think my track wont work there, but sure! Im good at making creepy soundtracks, ull got a mix of dark violins and electro without beats ; )

So I guess it will be just plain dark ambient music right, no exitement, no stops, well I think you know how to edit audio pretty well, so just one final question: how much would u like the length of the song to be?

Btw I dont live in Atlanta XD

Well like in the song clip I posted, I like how it is intense, but kind of staying that way, like it isnt building up in the middle of the song.

Hah, thats fine.

Okay just submitted the track I was talking you about, is Techno as you said, but listen to the instruments I used, all of them have and intense electronic feel, just need to know if you like them, then I'll use some of those for ur soundtrack ^^

So the legth would be like 4 to 5 mins? And I suppose I should make it loopable right?

Yeah that would be a good test.

I don't really mind if it's loop able.
